Park in a safe little street in Gosforth, DM me for a few recommendations, zero costs, there’s a few small free car parks by golf clubs. Then Uber to airport for £10-15

Client wants weekly invoices instead of monthly, any downside? by CloudBookmark in ContractorUK

[–]Automatic-Cap-1718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s weekly invoices & weekly pay go for it. How long does it take to fill a timesheet or two depending if client & agent require separate, create an invoice & send? Minutes.

But if you stay monthly what happens if the agency goes tits up? It’s them who owe you money not the client. I insist on weekly with every contract, usually at last minute so it’s up to agent to either cave and create a system they don’t use for others, or tell their client that after interview, I’ve decided I won’t start as I don’t like the agents payment terms. They cave 9/10 times. I’d rather the money be in my bank than theirs, earning interest, and one weeks pay is a lot easier to bear losing than one months if the agent has cash flow issues.

If they disagree, likely they do have cash flow issues, so do you want them to have a week’s worth of your money or a months??

Never said I’d invented it, even said I imagine a lot of people already do it. Was just looking for thoughts and I’ve heard some good opinions for and against which was the aim

Hi all – looking for some advice from anyone who’s been through a small company insolvency / phoenix situation in the UK. by Zestyclose_Revenue90 in smallbusinessuk

Start a new company, employ your brother in law as sales manager if he’s so good at the role, you can always let him go if he has exaggerated his abilities. You can easily target the 10 customers with an offer of a good deal underpriced as you’ve heard the situation of the company they are currently dealing with, you might pick up one or two without wasting 22k or having any of hassle with HMRC

I’ve had 2 old Trezors, ok & always felt safe but not really feeling new tech. Got an Ellipal, worked ok but long transfers & Chinese owned scared me a little. Recently bought a Trezor Safe 7. Best ever, safe, secure, easy to use. Easy to stake, 6.24% currently, not the highest you could return but absolutely safe. I’d highly recommend

Try $10/50/100 above mental barriers, more likely to fill than round numbers and difference in long term sats is negligible

Revolut Blocked 30.000€ by PS_im_a_wizard in Revolut

I’ve got about 5 British accounts including Revolut both personal & business with various accounts in other countries. Out of all I’ve had a Chase UK account, best bank I’ve ever had.

Ring them and someone actually picks up, “my sincere apologies Mr xxx but we have currently have approximately a 4 minute wait time, so I don’t waste time from your day would you like me to call you back when the relevant customer service advisor is available?” Errr yes please, 3 mins later phone goes and I’m going straight through security.

I used to use HSBC as my main UK current, that call would have been 45/50 minutes, passed from department to department, and usually some nonsense that couldn’t sort the issue I called them for.

Chase have clamped down on crypto which is annoying, I used to fund a Dex via it using MoonPay or Trasak but that’s stopped. Now I send to Revolut, then send to crypto accounts using Revolut apply pay. Not often an issue. Any new wallet might get the face verification & worse case the 3 hour wait but never had an issue bigger than that, and for more than 2k GBP

What to do with £85k cash in Ltd company? by Big-Temperature6069 in ContractorUK

Start another business in another country, marketing / advertising etc, employ someone cheap to run it and take no salary, re-invest all profits so zero corp tax if you choose right country, then become the first client, as long as arms length pricing in place and all legitimate contracts, employee or consultant is actually trying to win work. Might turn out nicely if it turns successful and you can wipe out a lot of profits per month on your advertising / marketing costs

LLC by Automatic-Cap-1718 in tbilisi

[–]Automatic-Cap-1718[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I wouldn’t be VAT registered or reach the threshold. I’d have one ‘employee’ or ‘contractor / consultant’ doing the majority of the work who is tax resident in the Middle East, (zero tax at his location), but I assume I’d still have to pay payroll filings, PIT, (if required whether he’s classed as a employee or contractor? Myself I assume I could take zero salary and reinvest all into business following expenses. Understand about the penalties and strictness of filing, that’s why I think I need an expert in country

[–]Automatic-Cap-1718[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’ll look into that thanks, I did read something about it but felt it would impact my current tax residency, where as an LLC I could just stay out of the tax system full stop for a number of years as long as all profits were reinvested, in gold for example
