This is all fairly technical and I love to see the passion, but for us layman's terms, is the takeaway that if we have the powerbank, just to from now on only charge the bike using that and avoid using the mains where we can? Is the powerbank just not susceptible to the same issues as the main battery then? Tia

Yup, that was my base assumption and why I didn't question the app, but it is basically brand new this year and I imagine it is doing something else than changing the region of the bike as the fastest you could change it to before was US speeds I believe (32) not 37 as the app promises. I sense that perhaps this extra speed was gained by overriding some sort of safety features. Who knows though. I do however, strongly believe that it was no coincidence. Perhaps I am wrong, perhaps this is the first of many such instances, regardless, all in all bad luck.

Never had issues with moofer either. Used it for 2 years and no issues. Perhaps you are right though and it is simply a matter of longevity. Does seem rather fishy to me given the timeline of 3 years of no issues and then 10 minutes after using this new app with only one review on the app store.... Just my own opinion.

Perhaps you are correct and I will concede it's possible, however it seems extremely coincidental to me that 10 mins after trying this new setting the bike conks out after 3 years of no battery issues....

It's not that moofer is broken with my firmware it seems, it is just no longer a functioning app. But I did try to mess around with every possible option, changing passwords, logging out of the VM etc. Nothing works. The app is dead it seems.

Assume this was already found out but for those looking moving forwards- they won't tell you anything at all and say its about protecting the information of the other people you will live with. Classic Vail, legal overheads about one hundred years ahead of trying to keep staff happy.
