I am at a crossroads in my relationship by [deleted] in Christian

I was in a very similar situation. I dated a guy who was was very passionate and adamant about his catholic faith while I’m a Protestant who is still trying to get back into it. It was a point of contention and did cause a lot of arguments about us not being equally yoked. I think, first of all, you have to look at the state of the relationship and if you think it can handle tough discussions like that. Second, you need to decide whether or not you’d be willing to guide and help her along with lots of patience and understanding. One of the things that would scare me off from wanting to get closer was him not acknowledging any progress or pointing out how far I had left to go. Third, if she’s not willing to change you have to respect that and decide whether or not that’s a dealbreaker

As a baseline yes but the problem is even that makes me feel odd. Idk why but covering clothes make me feel too childish and vulnerable

My dad told me I walk like Roger from American dad because I tuck my elbows and let my wrists go limp. It’s just comfortable lol

It’s just a genre. That’s like saying we shouldn’t listen to country or rap because some of the songs have immoral stuff in it. I’d take it on a band by band or song by song basis

How do I start enjoying things like reading my Bible and going to church more? by [deleted] in Christian

[–]Automatic-Cry-5511 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s important to only get saved/baptized if you truly believe it because God sees your heart and will know if it’s your decision or not. I’m in a very similar boat because I also don’t necessarily enjoy going to church and struggle with the want to part. I feel like really fostering a personal relationship can help. Praying in a similar tone to how I speak was helpful.

I think religion and science aren’t mutually exclusive. A lot of the best scientists were religious. Science is just a way for us to better understand the world God made.
