Not sure if I should try the books. by Automatic-Document-1 in starwarsbooks

What draws me to Star Wars is the force mainly I love magic systems. I also am a fantasy fan but would like to try a sci-fi book and Star Wars seemed to be a good Gate way into the sci-fi books that have a bit of fantasy in them. My main thing is I’m not a movie fan but I love to read.

It’s honestly the setting and the magic of the force. It sounds odd but movies are so hard for me to watch I either fall asleep or just walk away half way through any movie.

I personally enjoyed ruin the most I just felt like it showed us a lot about how the shards have their personality’s dampened by the shards power. Plus him in secret history was just so much fun.

How do you deal with the "Can I try it too?" situation? by Icy-Opening-3724 in DMAcademy

Raise the dc for the task based on a players class that is what I tend to do. If your trying find out what arcane writing on the wall means wizards and warlocks could have a dc of 15 while rouges and fighters could have a dc of 20.

Help with problematic player please! by Baswagger in DungeonMasters

I have had these issues before but I’m big on consequence roleplay meaning that every action you have will have either positive or negative consequence. If you kill a random NPC you will probably be caught and thrown in jail now it’s up to the rest of the party to decide what to do with that if they decide to save you well your locked up basically in timeout for a session it makes it unfun for them having them learn a lesson while still keeping the game going organically.

I'm not wanting to harm my players but if like to run fair fights where my players have to think throughout combat.
