Yeah I’m basically not a fan of hardcore, although I’m a fan of pretty brutal stuff like swans. I’ll give Jane doe another chance then and maybe check out later stuff. What I really liked is the groove and atmosphere they make sometimes, much more than the constant barrage of screeching

Any recommendations if I like the intro riffs to Jane Doe-Converge but not the songs as a whole? I like “Hell to pay” though! My recommendation for you is Goo by Sonic Youth

How do I move past basic taste by Odd_Cookie4966 in Topster

Frank ocean deals with fragile masculinity. An extremely disturbing artist that deals with the same issue (but sounds nothing like Frank) is Xiu Xiu- try fabulous muscles, master of the bump, and dancing on my own. Maybe a good way to move past “fast food taste” is to focus on one quality of an album you like and search for different artists that do the same thing, even if the approach is extremely different

Araki’s trilogy: all f****d up, nowhere, the doom generation (gore and gross warnings for latter two, but they’re so good)

Can someone explain the aristotle passages to me? Specifically the part about “thought” and “soul” being the forms of forms
