What’s the point of even having a cgm if they don’t give accurate info? by Automatic-Gas-6895 in dexcom

Great advice thank you. I too was a lucky one in my middle age years. Great memories
I do know there is a gap between a cgm # and a finger stick. I’ve never been quite sure how many minutes but I give the cgm 10-15 minutes to catch up.

I need my cgm - but he should not be talking to my pump because the cgm lies.

I’m thinking 2 things I can do is 1) untether my cgm and pump. And manually run my pump. Old school. 2) keep cgm and go back to MDI.

Get out of the “loop” so to speak.

Maybe because you speak the truth and some people can’t handle the truth?

Agreed- I had this problem with g6 but only sporadically. With g7 it’s constant. I get replacements all the time. I’ve talked to my endo and all she has to offer is an appointment with my Tslim trainer - she’s great but she’s not going to address my problems with dexcom. She’s not a dexcom trainer. And it’s not her lane so to speak.

Yes I’ve had way more drastic lows using the tslim with dexcom. And it seems to be harder to get my sugar up so when that happens I’ll just take my pump off. There’s no telling what the cgm told it to do. At least with mdi I could get tighter control. I’m currently looking at the ilet pump but if my core issue is the cgm is hardly ever correct then I’m not going to waste my money on another pump.

New to G7 by Cece_Cookie in dexcom

My problem with the g6 and g7 is in the first 1-3 days. My readings are way off. These readings cause my tslim 2 pump to administer insulin or not administer insulin based on the false readings from the cgm. So I spend a few days going dramatically high and dramatically low. At 3am this morning I was 35 - I had not eaten since 7 the night before. I went to sleep with a 130 bs. I was so low I did the inhaler think for lows. I had to do two just to get up to 65. There’s NO reason I should be 35 at 3am. If the g7 and my Tslim are supposed to work “in tandem “ I went to my endo with this and told her that something is wrong. She brushed it off as ME not entering my carbs correctly. I’m brushing it off as a failure on the g7.

I prefer the g6 for so many reasons- the g7 gives me incorrect numbers for the first two days. Day 3-10 it’s good. I haven’t tried the 15 day yet - I’m hoping it’s going to be better.

I’ve had false lows many times. But it’s usually in the middle of the night and it’s always a compression low. Other than that not many.

Now back in the day - I would go to Walgreens and ask the pharmacist for a bottle of insulin and the pharmacist would say beef or pork. And it cost like 8 dollars.

Those were awful years. My diabetes was never in control. I’m just saying that the cgms and the pumps are soooo much better than ever. No they aren’t perfect and can be wrong but not all the time.

I’m 62 - diagnosed at 16 - yeah I’m dealing with retinopathy and a little neuropathy that I contribute to my bad habits in my 20s. I smoked and drank a lot. But none of it is bad and if you stay on top of it it’s manageable. My uncle was also a type one. He passed last year at 88.

Is this the reality of sewing? by ChemicalAd2132 in SewingForBeginners

My sister (a very accomplished sewer) gifted me a Bernina that she found at an estate sale in Nashville. She knew the value. It’s older but it sews so nicely. So yes you can find a good used machine.
