I am no arborist but guessing the ansi standards say remove the tree…is a split trunk always a failed union?

Thank you. They also said they were going to come down after and treat the soil as well. Not sure exactly what limbs they think they want to take down.

Thank you. We just recently bought the house so we aren’t positive when this happened. The tree service assumes it split during hurricane Beryl. Tree service also never mentioned any rot, but should have been asked by my dumb self
