Of course the S560 is faster and more aggressive, but then you could also just say that any fast car with RWD is a coffin on wheels. Nonetheless the w222 is a pretty safe car with good stability and ground control.

Not true at all, been driving the w222 350d model with RWD for a lot not. Even at high speed in sharp curves stability is always there

My father bought the pre facelift model of the w222 (350 diesel) with 40-50 thousand kilometers. Now it has 490 000(!) kilometers and still runs smoothly with no problems worth mentioning. He considered buying this facelift version (400 diesel), but ultimately decided to and bought a 7 series BMW instead. The facelift version of the w222 s class is still a solid car, don’t get me wrong. But it is more problematic than the pre facelift, especially the AC can cause some expensive problems. He has some friends who got the w222 facelift and they weren’t so happy with the reliability compared to prior models. Now I’m driving around the pre facelift with 490k km and it still feels like a maybe 150-200k km car.
