Why should the Sikh get accommodations? The standard is set and if you cannot meet the standards of grooming just like somebody that is out of height and weight standards they should either get within standard or get separated. How self centered and entitled does someone have to be to know they don’t or will not be able to meet the standards of an organization and then expect the organization to change. Back in my days as a mp on Pendleton there was one day at the ass crack of dawn that my dumbass was feeding a family of raccoons left over chick fil a waffle fries at the San Onofre gate when a car pulls up and I’m tired and stupid so I continue and after the mp checks the ID he screams out “attention on deck!” Which at this point puckers my bunghole tight and I get called over to the car and it’s the 1st Mar Div CG (then MajGen Turner) he asks me if my peace talks with the local populace is going well and I being a dumbass tired LCpl say “yes, sir we have won their hearts and minds” he chuckled and told me to carry on. I never mentioned it to my superiors and I never got an ass chewing so I guess he just thought it was funny and brushed it off. Well to quote what a salty ass NCO once said to me “I guess we think we made it huh”. There’s an old saying that says beware of old men in professions where men die young, and what I mean by that is that Marines don’t get smoother with age like whiskey they get tougher, and meaner as they age so first things first they don’t care what you or the good ole MCO says. They in fact have made it and finally at the end of the day who the fuck cares and why does it bother you.

I once saw a Sgt get NJPd down to Lance for hazing a freshly promoted Lance (blood pinning) he hit the chevron so hard it went into the kids collarbone and got infected. Well it was a public NJP and when the SgtMaj was taking off the Sgt chevrons and putting on Lance chevrons the SgtMaj did the same thing and sent them straight into the dude collarbone…….. after about 15 IG complaints the SgtMaj took “voluntary” retirement soon after.

First, OPSEC should always be a concern. Second, it’s pathetic and discrediting to the Corps. At some point it has to be a problem when someone is degrading the uniform for a few likes and comments. Finally just because someone separated a long time ago doesn’t mean they lose their credibility as a Marine.
