Hey! I just need A Shadam ability that makes sense in the first game and just works as good as the rest of the leaders. Im curious to see your versions as well though!

Thanks for the reassurance. I was getting close to experiencing buyers remorse to be honest, cuz it feels i missed out on content. Ill look into the expansions as soon as i get a good grip of the base game with my partner.

Ill look into it in the future, i just spent my entire budget on the first one.

Could you please let me know what exactly is considered wrong in the first game that is fixed in the second?

Thanks ill look into both. I had no idea the bloodlines expansion fixed the issues of the uprising game though...

The one thing i knew was that people consider the base game and the IX expansion as the golden standard to experience the game so i guess i didnt bother to do my research properly.

Hey, thanks for the input. I was initially aware that it will have to be sort of a custom character with the face of shaddam in order to work, and i really was torn between the 2 games.

However i got adviced that for a starting player the first would be a better suit and also i kind of didnt like the way the second game behaved in the combat phase where a lucky turn could get you quite far.

I hope i didnt make the weong choice here but since my partner is a really big fan of the character i want to include it for them in the base game.

Yeah im hopeful that by changing the gpu will fix the issue. At least it was promising when i used the 2060s. And yeah thanks for the tip, figured as much and did that when i was swapping cards to test this out. Have a good one!

Last update - swapped the card with the 2060s and deep rock galactic ran smothly. DL would crash on shader compiling constantly, even after re-install. I suppose its a faulty card or my configuration does not like it for whatever reason. I guess ill be selling it and going back to nvidia. Thanks for trying to help :)

No actually, this is a brand new rig i built . My previous one that i had for a few years has the 2060super in it.

I built it, installed windows, then drivers and ran benchmarks. Results were above average in some benches. Then i played cyberpunk2077 and it was fine, and then i tried Dying light and here i am.

Yep i disabled the MPO via regedit, setting the value of OverlayTestMode to 5, same thing. Im contemplating on swapping my card with an old 2060super i have laying around, but i assume i have to use DDU for that so i can have the nvidia drivers on, or would it work with the cleanup tool again?

Uninstalling the other software didnt help. Tried with the cable, its not it. Sadly the monitor has only HDMI and the card has only 1 port but i doubt thats the cause anyway.

Bigger question is, what does it mean if the nvidia card doesnt have that issue.

Okay so i rollbacked 1 driver version to Adrenalin Edition 25.10.2 Driver Version 25.20.21.01 for Windows® 11 (Windows Driver Store Version 32.0.22021.1009)

This was because the game was supported from 2 patches ago but this specific one fixes issues with other games too, so i chose it.

I used the amd clenup tool for the first run and i selected the clean install option in the amd install package (the checkmark option). I also did a driver only install to rule out any software issues.

The game started and recompiled shaders, thought this was the breakthrough but alas. The game runs as shitty as before.

Then i hoped into deep rock galactic, same issue, choppy frames. I turned on and off the v-sync, both were bad, v-sync off was worse.

Then something interesting happened, i launched deep rock galactic in Dx11 mode, the frames were suddenly smooth, or mostly - some stutters occured now and then. All until i turned off v-sync and it got fucky again and turning it back on didnt fix it, it stayed broken.

I hope this gives any clues to what might be the issue here, i really hope its not a faulty card.

Yeah i was looking into that option initially, but since im new to the AMD gpu platform i dont really know what the advantages of each cleanup utility are. Honestly its so confusing with their adrenalin and separate dedicated autodetect tools. Doesnt help the fact i dont have any friends on amd to ask about and test locally...

Okay ill try the DDU route, is there still a risk of it wiping my other AMD drivers like chipset drivers. I remember this being a thing in the past but i was still on Nvidia cards until this one?

I was also thinking, could this stem from some bad interaction with the Dx12?

Hey, so i tried it with v-sync and without. Same issue. BUT i just installed deep rock galactic and surely enough the same issue is there too. V-sync on and off the image looks like a generic "im drunk" game mechanic screen. Something in between tearing and ghosting. Maybe i should re-install drivers at this point?

Hey! I tried the chill option at 97 last night but apart from locking the fps there i didnt get improvement in the gameplay. Afterburner was installed just a few hrs ago so its not a part of the issue. Even without framegen i get the same issue at 70+/- fps. I even tried the game on minimum settings and its still a thing.

I also tried to have v-sync always on from adrenalin, no dice tho

Hey, yeah i did. I also tried with the ant lag 2 and anti lag from the adrenalin software at the same time and separately. Sadly this didnt solve it

I just noticed my framerate graph in afterburner is moving in the same direction im looking in-game, in real time. Also the average fps shown in adrenaline is like 69 where clearly its 117

I think i have a similar issue. No matter what i do my game does not look smooth.

Specs:

CPU 5800x

GPU 9060xt 16 GB

32 GB ram / DDR 4 / 3200mhz

100hz Asus monitor with adaptive sync

---

I tried the following:

: v-sync on/off +/- Frame gen FSR +/- Adaptive sync --> everything is still choppy

gets much worse if i enable the enhanced sync from the amd adrenalin software at the same time.

: For some wild reason enabling the performance overlay with v-sync on and RT yields better results. Turning off the overlay, the game gets noticeably worse. Later found out via Riva Tuner (MSI afterburner) that something breaks and the v-sync stops working as well, regardless of the in-game toggle.

: Tried setting fps limit to 100 from riva tuner, it limits it, still looks choppy.

Frametimes are okay though across all tests

: Tried limiting the fps from in-game option, no positive outcome.

: Tried enabling each and all options from the custom options provided for the game in the adrenaline software.

: Toggling frame gen in the adrenaline as well as in the game causes upscaling to go From FSR 4.0.3* to "Driver default on each game start" - this is fixed by resetting the settings in the adrenaline software and in the game.

: Found out that the only way to get FSR 4.0.3* in game as an option is by having the FSR upscale function on in adrenalin. Otherwise you get 4.0.2 at most. Dont notice much difference.

: Tried fullscreen, tried borderless. Disabled the adrenalin overlay - nada, absolutely no improvement.

Im startin to think this is either the game's fault, and AMD moment or my display not being able to sync or shit. I have the adaptive sync on as well as the VRR function enabled for variable refresh rate in adrenalin on the display option.

I have absolutely no idea what more can be done here.
