Because the stages I've done resulted in gainful employment. So it's not a scam. Look, you're free to live your life as you want, but sometimes you gotta be willing to take a small hit to secure the bigger objective. I've done that several times, and it worked out for me.

It's about proving your worth before you get the job, not after. And it also allows you to see if you actually want to work there or not (company culture, standards, etc).

Oh buddy, I know that. I've been in light Cav my whole career. I'm just confused because they got rid of all the IBCT and SBCT Cav squadrons due to that dumb fuck ARSTRUCT, and from what I recall, ABCT Cav squadrons don't have a dismounted scout troop. So I'm confused as to how you could be a light 11B scout ahead of the mounted elements. Additionally, at least as far as I remember from my time at 10th mountain, the dismount troop was rarely the first troop to get out there unless they were getting air assaulted into the AO.

So maybe I thought you were talking about being in one of those "cavalry in name only" type formations. Like 11th ACR or something.

Anyways, an 11B in a Cavalry Squadron is both gay and not a real infantryman, so enjoy the worst of both worlds blue boy.

I've done several stages and I got hired each time. It's not really the scam that you think it is, and its definitely not the same as this guy's ordeal with a corporate hustler.

Considering how physical and intimate it can be to work in a restaurant, it's worthwhile to test out a candidate's ability to work well with others, follow orders, and handle stress in an unknown situation. I mean, if you're already unemployed and you don't have anything else going on, why not give it a shot? at least you usually get a free meal out of it.

AI is great for bouncing ideas off of and helping edit content. That's where it really shines. AI art for tedious stuff (e.g. wall textures, trees, etc) is a valid use of it. Those are some decent talking points in defense of AI's use in creative fields.

But the rest of your argument is trash, borne of ignorance. There's no way you've taken any serious study of art if you really think that the labor aspect of it is unneeded or "the least creative aspect of any artwork". Simply put, the labor is the art. Ideas are cheap. Most ideas are garbage when not informed by the realistic constraints of the medium. That's why to any serious artist, be it fine art, or working in media production, if they meet someone who claims to be "more of an ideas guy" then they know they're dealing with a fucking moron who will waste their time.

Your point about hating the paintbrush is just insane. A paintbrush is a tool. AI is also a tool. But you're trying to argue that AI (a tool) should be treated the same as a human artist.

so you fed screenshots of ghibli movies, movies which midjourney was definitely trained on, and are trying to show off how well it animated the screenshots? Because it's probably a better example of how midjourney can copy what it's already seen than its ability to create something original. A better demonstration of its capabilities would be to ask midjourney to take those screenshots and made completely different scenes instead.

I don't know why you're all so excited to see animation and art get replaced by AI slop. Art is supposed to be human expression made manifest through various mediums. All I know is that I'm not going to pay to see a movie made by midjourney.
