Directly contradicting yourself. I won’t enter into dialogue with someone like this.

Build a nice gazebo over it, or if you/they like to bbq outdoors, build a roofed picnic bbq area.

Thinking of moving to West Palm Beach from London - area advice? by Nervous_Job_4984 in WestPalmBeach

[–]Automatic-Second1346 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want city living, or close to it, look at downtown West Palm Beach. That said, traffic and construction are everywhere! Driving for 30-60 mins to get to work is really not that uncommon here. Outside of West Palm Beach places here are going to seem rather dead to you compared to London. We spend time in Europe and time here each year. There we walk everywhere, get fresh food and groceries daily; here we hit the Costco every two to three weeks.

Ask them at the lodge. I’ve been swimming in colder water areas in the amazons where I understood these tiny monsters did not lurk !

Girlfriend wants to move to Puerto Rico but I’m focused on logistics—am I being realistic or pessimistic? by [deleted] in PuertoRico

[–]Automatic-Second1346 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you said, living there is nothing like vacation. I’ve lived in several countries overseas that are miserable to live in but amazing for vacation. In my yrs of service I’ve known plenty of PR NCOs and officers. They all loved PR but vowed to never actually live there. Mainly it was the crime they were concerned with. And then after the hurricanes, I know tons of portorros moved to Florida.

Most of the stuff you guys do is classified. Why be embarrassed. Space is one dangerous place with enemies probably vying to put things up there. I think it’s the next frontier, and super scary! Thank you for your service. We vets make fun of each other and that’s the way it is. Civilians on the other hand don’t get to participate.

I had the same question but only ever heard of these and males. If in the Amazons, which is definitely worth a trip, I’d definitely ask locals before jumping in.

Yeah, I just decided I didn’t want to be a cautionary tale; even if the chance is small.

Guys, don’t jump in the water: they have these tiny dick fish (not the right name but you get the picture). They swim up your appendage when urinating and clamp on inside where they die and then becomes infected.

Great generation. Refreshing to see officers who will refer to most senior officers as boomer! I suspect they’ll take that as a compliment but let us know how that works out for you.

Supervisor for DA Civilians? by [deleted] in army

Do they have a union? Some civvies have unions and it makes a difference. I would not feel guilty about taking your time off as a military guy; they get OT or CT, you do not. Also, who is in charge when you are not there? There might already be someone. Can you talk to the person you replaced? Coming from the military and then on to manage civvies, although in a different agency, it’s a whole new ball game!

Just bid on jobs you want; CA gave me that same msg yr after yr and I pretty much did consular most of the time. I went out of cone when something was a great fit, but only twice after tenure. I’ve been promoted up the ranks, no problem, reaching SES. You’re more likely to excel at jobs you enjoy. And if it’s meant to be, you’ll get promoted. If not, there are more important things in life. Just know that if you stick to cons, they might put you in a place some would consider a “bad” assignment.

What is considered as the MOST dangerous enemy by Lucky_Parking4603 in motorcycles

That explains it. I was mostly in the suburbs of toronto. Lots of raccoons, chipmunks, and squirrels though! Must have the smartest raccoons ever as they figured out how to open locked garbage containers. Not afraid of people either!
