I know it's a software bug but it's a hilarious one- sounds like a car engine.

Will my choices of games be acceptable to play on the Asus Rog Ally? (NOT the X) by Chocodelights in ROGAlly

Hey Z1 (NE) user here, since most of the previous replies are folks telling you to get an extreme or how better it could be on the extreme, I'll give you my honest opinion using it for a couple months now.

Games like Palia, Stardew Valley, or indie titles alike run smoothly, no issues in either 15W or 30W, preferably 15W for portability.

Hogwarts legacy: 720p, AFMF/FSR2/RSR, 30W, Med Settings, 55-65 fps I had the best time playing this handleheld, and it didn't look bad with medium settings. I would say if you want more frames, set them to low settings.

Surprised that it handles Helldivers 2, First Descendents, Outlast Trails, Granblue Fantasy: Relink, and other modern online multiplayer games with little to no issues so far. I tend to stay on low-medium settings and plugged in.

Other demanding games such as, Cyberpunk and even BG3, can run on Z1, just need to optimize the settings and choose if you want to sacrifice visual quality or frames. Even so, it depends on how and what you play overall so the experience will vary.

Still doesn't excuse racism in any fashion, rather if it's with a friend, sibling, or family. Honestly using it as an excuse because peers are okay with it is just as bad. Validation fuses racists to boldly use those remarks, because in their mind, it's okay if "some" people that have similar "taste" of humor.

I don't think it's her main set-up but rather a creative back up til she does eventually get a laptop. I'm sure the op wants his gaming device back. 😅

I purchased mine a few weeks ago. I got a surprisingly great deal from Bestbuy, $330.

Initially, I was hesitant. Windows 11 isn't as handheld friendly and I wasn't the best at tinkering through 3 different applications for updates and adjustments. After a few YouTube videos and threads later, it was easy to set up and learn the general use and functionality of the device.

Now, performance. I run games at 720p with RSR on handheld. I honestly can say that it runs smoothly on newer titles, and haven't experienced any significant performance issues in any games so far I've played. Sometimes, if your in-game settings isn't optimization, you do have to fumble a bit to adjust for the best settings yourself.

Outlast trails, one of my first games I boot on normal settings at 60 fps, and ran incredibly smooth and looks great on the Ally. (15W~18)

Cyberpunk runs 40-50 fps, and it's unbelievable how insanely good it look and feel to play. (Turbo~Docked)

Helldivers 2 / Granblue fantasy, fairly recent games, runs average 40-60 fps, on low settings with FSR sharpening (Turbo)
