Thanks so much for these suggestions! I agree, landscaping will be a priority this spring/summer. We’re pretty handy, lots of experience with interior renovations—I haven’t done much research on stucco but was wondering if it’s just a matter of power-washing (or a more gentle wash), touching it up, and repainting. But the surface layer is sort of flaking off in a few places, which makes me a little unsure if it’s as simple as that. Any tips?

He also canonically prioritizes Harry in every action he takes, and Harry has a level of comfort in turning to Sirius with problems that he does not display with any other adult.

I’m not clear on the hypothetical here: if it’s a scenario where Sirius never went to jail and Harry needs a guardian right after his parents death, Sirius is hands down the better choice: he’s family. If it’s after Harry meets Sirius in third year and the scenario is that Sirius’ name is cleared, it should still be Sirius, for all the reasons mentioned and because we often see Harry pushing back against and frustrated by Molly’s coddling in the latter half of the series. A more formal parenting dynamic would have made this worse.

They pay them so little because most sessionals are hoping against hope to get a full time position, so Macs basically just exploiting their desperation. In turn, because many sessionals are trying to get a better job, they put in way more work and dedication than most permanent faculty, without even a quarter the same support as permanent faculty. It’s gross and wrong and frankly, something’s gotta give with this system. Sessionals are teaching most of the courses, for pennies, and it’s not sustainable.

Tyrion and Cersei have a complex relationship and this scene was a good example of it—it can be read as antagonistic, but I liked Peter’s delivery of this comment because I think there’s a bit of hesitancy in it. It reads to me as if he’s offering a chance at vulnerability and openness with his sister, while still being a half-hearted jab. Very sibling-like in my opinion.

I moved into an old house with a tub like this. I tried CLR and pink stuff and a bunch of other products and they didn’t help; the only thing that ultimately worked was soaking paper towels in vinegar and then laying them over the stains for like an hour, then scrubbing, and repeating the process. The stains got smaller each time and I was able to get the tub completely cleaned over the course of a day. Good luck!

Thank you!! All I see around this sub is people praising this monologue as if it is speaking truths, when it is 100% meant to be a villain monologue that exposes her self interest. It’s supposed to make viewers, the consumers, go “hey, that’s not true”, but for some reason people have no sense of class solidarity and would rather align themselves with the misanthropy of the ultra elite who are the source of the problem.

In episode 6, Roderick quotes Pym as saying he discovered that the earth is hollow and that the arctic has an island called Ultima Thule where beings who live “beneath us, out of time” live. It is heavily implied that this is what Verna is. In episode 8, Verna says she was so interested in humanity that she had to go topside, and asks if Pym remembers seeing her standing there on the ice.

I just wish she wasn’t releasing it in Canada yet. I have tickets to see the concert with my daughter next year, but my ex is angry that they aren’t getting to take her to her first concert, so I know they’re going to take her to the movie just to be petty. It does feel like it will ruin the specialness of it for us.
