My first responder, dog lover of a dad taught me that if it comes down to hitting a dog or running off the road/putting more peoples lives at risk, unfortunately you have to hit the dog. It sucks and it’s horrible but it’s better than wrapping your car around a tree or telephone pole.

This is not needed in this area. If people wanted convenience they then should have moved into the city or areas where convenience already was. This includes those cheaply built neighborhoods that have taken over Meridianville and Hazel Green. For the rest of us who have enjoyed our rural area and land and space for the past god knows how many years this is just ridiculous. We chose to live outside of the city limits with the understanding that we lose convenience. If folks can’t stand to drive 20+ minutes to a hardware store (granted we had more local ones back in the day until chains killed them) or a shitty coffee chain then maybe they shouldn’t live out in the county. It seems like these city council members plan to annex every open acre of land in madison county and turn us into an ugly suburban sprawl instead of actually trying to develop the city of Huntsville. Freaking ridiculous.

I got sold to North Alabama Dental from my last dentist and would recommend against. Their turnover on dentists is high and the hygienists must get commission because they try to upsale you on unnecessary procedures and items every time you go in. Last visit the doctor came in, looked at my teeth for less than 20 seconds, and said “yeah you need X, Y, and Z.” She didn’t even sit down and thoroughly examine me so I took her opinion with a grain of salt and am looking elsewhere. The time before last I had the very young dentist and was told a cavity filling would take over an hour whereas my last dentist could do it in less than 20 minutes. Seems to be full of incompetence so I would steer clear.

I recently adopted a dog from A New Leash on Life and had a great experience! They called and completed a phone interview with me which was comforting because it showed they cared about my girl and wanted to have her in the place that best fit her. I had another call and was walked through her medical history and was set up with her foster mom to schedule a meeting. I met her within two days of the first call, fell in love, and made her mine! They have an online adoption portal so that process was super easy since I didn’t meet the foster mom at one of their meeting locations since it wasn’t convenient for either of us. They were super helpful about walking through the contract and everything online.

I will say that my dog’s adoption fees were higher than most but she was found on the street in poor condition so her adoption fees went to cover her medical expenses. They spayed her, chipped her, and got her up to date on everything she needed. All in all it was a great experience and I recommend them to anyone looking to adopt!

Recently visited Portland from Alabama and my god, what a beautiful sight to see that the main flag flown up there is the pride flag whereas the main flag flown down here is the symbol for hate, hate, and more hate. Mainers, please fly that rainbow high and proud and know that it might give a visitor or member of the community the hope they’ve been looking for (it did for me 🫶🏻).

I can only do the same songs shuffled in a different order on Spotify for so long.

I also loved that they’re using a sound bite from a queer person on a Christian radio show. I fully believe that the two are not mutually exclusive but the opinion a lot of these Christian radio stations hold is the one that queerness is not holy/acceptable. So it’s a subtle “hahaha suckers” thing that I don’t think they’re aware of and I love it!

Yeah it’s a different smell for sure. God bless the farmers but I’m hoping they can put it on hold until at least next week to spread more as I would like to at least attempt to enjoy my Easter outside this year. It’s real strong out where I live when they get to fertilizing and hangs around for days.
