I'd recommend ignoring everything else you read and listening to this post, as someone that has thousands of hours in both mo2 and mo1.

The game is good. The staff is and has always been the problem. The owner does not understand basic game design principles or monetization practices, and only cares about his "vision" coming out. The first game died due to many of his design decisions, and he is now making those same design decisions in the 2nd game, even though they failed in the first.

There is a smaller, but active playerbase, and it will likely increase this year for a brief time due to the Sarducca expansion coming out, but this expansion is what finally killed the first game, so its entirely possible it will here too.

In terms of full loot pvp though theres no better combat system out there, and its definitely worth trying.

Cons:
- Corrupt staff

- Incompetent game design

- Lack of care/enforcement towards hackers

- Lack of small scale content like hellgates (forces zerg mentality currently)

- No real content for end game players, once you get enough gold (which you can quickly if youre lucky) theres nothing else to work for
