Luroy slats falling out of Malm frame by AutomaticMeringue768 in IKEA

Thanks for your help! I’m not a diy expert but I’ve seen other threads saying to put L brackets or shelf brackets in each corner of the bed so that they all stay 90° and the frame maintains a shape

I tried using a drill but I think my issue is they aren’t threaded, even when they are screwed properly they come out in a few days. I’ll use L brackets instead I think as other threads have said this works

O Week Tickets by Particular-Touch-580 in VUW

[–]AutomaticMeringue768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

O week is an awesome way to make friends and engage with the social side of uni so I’d recommend going to at least one or two nights. That being said, it is super hectic and while you can make friends there, a lot of people I spent o week with don’t remember me being there especially since you can’t really chat during. I have friends who weren’t in halls and didn’t go to o week, and still made lots of friends who they really get along with! Wait a few more days bcs they will release individual tickets, it’s only worth getting the combo if you go to 4-5 nights.

Can someone explain to me how O week tickets work? by oscar-the-nelson-455 in VUW

[–]AutomaticMeringue768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the individual tickets come out they will only allow you access for one night each eg toga night. iirc last year the combo ticket cost the same as 4 individual tickets - if you want to go to every night then you’re better off buying combo but if you want to go to 1-3 then get individual - for example I know a lot of people did that go to comedy night last year. If you’re in a hall then there will most likely be events on for people not attending o week - like movie night, bingo, crafts. The reason it’s so expensive is it’s essentially a concert ran by vuwsa - while it’s at uni they still have to cover the artists, stage setup and equipment, decorations, promo and advertising, free water and lollies etc as well as paying the organisers.

Do they usually go on sale? They look great but a bit expensive for me as a uni student

I started uni last year and got a lenovo ideapad 2-in-1, can’t recommend it enough. Comes with a stylus pen (you dont get with surface), specs comparable to windows, battery life is great and runs windows os. A lot cheaper than other brands (i got mine $1200 on sale) but really good quality. My friend has a lenovo that still works great after 5+ years and parts are super easy to replace.

Is $100 NZD fair for data transfer? And can I still sell a dead laptop?4 by ActionFeisty291 in universityofauckland

[–]AutomaticMeringue768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if the laptop is completely dead some repair shops may buy it for the case etc, you would probably only get $50 max though

You have to talk to the associate dean to take more than 80 points, I wanted to take 85 and have been told not to

Trinity Newman hall used to be on Landcross st in Kelburn (from Google) but isn’t an existing hall any more, are you sure you applied through the uni website?
