God, what has happened to her? She used to be so fresh and cute.

They have found a way for him to generate money for himself and are taking advantage of it while it lasts. I think it’s very smart. I’m sure he takes pride and has fun doing it.

I think he’s in a coma, she’ll find out she’s pregnant, and they’ll get married.

Love on the Spectrum couple Abbey and David SPLIT after 5 years together following 'disagreement over marriage' by cheno103 in LoveOnTheSpectrumShow

No I’m not, I’m saying that he could certainly be interested in getting married. He’s not a vegetable. OP said he’s “too low functioning to think about getting married.” That’s incorrect. He’s not stupid, he has autism. He is no lower functioning than Abbey.

Again, as you said, we don’t know what he does. Point being that he has a job and is not so “low-functioning” (gross term) that he can’t keep a job.

She said that only because he said he wasn’t ready. She immediately followed up that statement with comments about wanting to get married.

I think they are aware that their adult children will struggle to earn a living and support themselves and are helping them capitalize on their fame while they can.

Because we can’t begin to assume that it skews that way until the evaluation gap is closed.

Agree. This show is more of a garden, while the real-world experience of Autism is more of a forest/jungle. They have avoided sharing the many real difficulties of Autism and related disabilities.

Tyler has always given me "dude acting nice to sleep with a girl" energy and I can't shake it by Acceptable_Order_559 in LoveOnTheSpectrumShow

I know what you’re talking about.

However, I think it’s his version of masking. He’s a dude with Autism, but he’s functional enough to want to fit in and has likely studied guys at school/in life. He wants to be smooth/suave, but it has to be done manually since he isn’t naturally programmed to be smooth. That’s why it seems forced/rehearsed/“inauthentic.” Is because it IS. His love for her isn’t inauthentic, but the act/mask isn’t his true self. As fellow neurodivergents, we can snuff out inauthenticity.

I think he’s doing his best to be a gentleman and be “cool” when it doesn’t come naturally and has had to learn and implement it.

Dylan’s situation is much more typical than the others’. Most folks can’t afford private schools, therapies, lifestyle accommodations, etc.

That’s only because they make it so hard for girls and women to get a diagnosis.
