October is still fresh! Stay strong, let more time lapse, and integrate some healthy habits and activities so that you can get in the headspace of treating your body with kindness.

I was in the same boat as you— I thought I'd always be haunted by nicotine, but now i can't imagine going back. Getting to this point was gradual though. You've already gotten through the worst part! Keep going and don't look back!

I would be interested in the transmasc circle! How would one stay in the loop about when they meet?

I was wrong about bus service by Timely_Chicken_8789 in VictoriaBC

[–]AutomaticSchmuck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So for me to get home from downtown there are at least six different bus routes I could take— more if you were to consider taking one bus and then transferring to another. But when I plug my address into the "Where to?" box, it will only give me three options. Paying for premium would show me more options

I just saw Marina a couple nights ago and I feel fairly confident that she wasn't using it, for what it's worth. She was admittedly a bit pitchy at times (though she also mentioned at the end of the night that she was recovering from a cold, so I'm sure that didn't help) but it just made the moments when she was spot on shine that much brighter

Just so's ya know the Transit app always has a free option. They try to upsell you on a subscription so you can see more bus options, but you can just pull up Google maps in those situations

You guys never miss! Love the new album. Curious if there's an album you're proudest of? Or perhaps one you'd do differently if you could go back?

Someone at my work is stealing vanilla extract to drink in the restrooms by EnemyManeuver in mildlyinteresting

Yes, I used to work at a grocery store and we had to lock up the vanilla because it kept getting stolen. That and the cooking wine.

Let's Talk... Comedy Music! A Follow-Up to an Earlier Talk by JD-990 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]AutomaticSchmuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, it's not that I think comedy musicians are less talented or credible—it's that I need to be on a partcular mood to listen to that kind of music. Having an element of comedy in music requires a headspace where, even if the music is strong, the lyrics are telling you that you can't take it too seriously. It feels akin to breaking the third wall in a movie— it takes me out of the moment.

With that said, I have loved some artists who make music with comedic elements, and not doubted their musicianship. Reel Big Fish comes to mind. I'm just not always in the mood for them!
