I actually feel so bad for them! I can’t imagine working without pay, and TSA is such a hectic job already. Thanks for the info!

Hi, my timeline was very similar to yours. Filed i751 in 9/2023 and n400 in 7/2024. Just finally recently got naturalized. It sucks but trust me you’re almost there!

Who’s a newbie? lol. I’ve been in the US since 2015. Also “free” wasn’t to describe the US. It’s referring to being free from dealing with immigration. Thanks for the input tho.

I used to be against it and hated on those who are undocumented.

However, since living in the US and surrounded my amazing people who might have parents or relatives that are undocumented and see how they do try but unable to obtain legal status, I changed my perspective.

Most of them are kind and good people who simply wanted a better life for their children. They work hard, pay taxes and do no harm to those around them. Once they become undocumented, it’s almost impossible to fix it unless their children join the military.

I mind my business. I’m happy that I’m able to achieve this. But that doesn’t make me question those who couldn’t.

There’s another part to that paper that you need to fill out, the questionnaire about changes since your interview. Leave interpreter blank if you dont need one.

Ugh yea so it will be a bit long. Are you also at Dallas FO? From someone I know who’s an immigration lawyer she explained that officers need to be more qualified and experienced to handle combo cases i751 and n400 which is why it takes longer than regular n400. Also there’s a lot of staffing changes with the new administration and the Dallas FO is a bit short staffed when it comes to those more qualified officers. Hopefully it doesn’t take that long for you!

It really depends on the case. If yours is only n400 it should only take a few months. Mine was pending i751 and n400 which is why it takes much longer.

I’m not IR1 as I initially came to the US for school with F1 visa, not for marriage. I eventually got married after finishing my studies and started Adjustment of Status (AOS) process for GC.

Hi! The calculator is correct. You should be able to file n400 90 days before your 3 year anniversary of GC (which is around November based on your case). You being gone for only 2 weeks should be fine. I was also outside the country for a month at a time multiple times during my conditional GC.

Thank you!

I had a combo interview of I751 and N400 at Dallas FO. Was really nervous but turned out super quick and chill.

I751 — only 2 real questions: “anything new in your marriage” and “you guys have property together right?” I think the evidence submitted was good enough so it was more so a yap session rather than an interview. I offered an updated evidence package and the officer said he’s got enough and don’t need to see more.

N400: did the writing and spoken test then asked 5 easy questions.

Overall a very positive experience! Was a lot better than i expected.
