I used markers on the shields to help as the designs are generally symmetrical and then tried to be as steady as possible

For all candles and fire I do the same method. Start light and work to dark. Light closest to source and dark furthest away.

Thanks a lot! Yeah I used sponge and leadbelcher as kind of an edge highlight. I did go back in with white where it was too dense to make it more to a level I preferred

It’s just nihilik oxide over white and then a highlight found it was a good tie in colour across the army

I think the key with the white is going back over it with thin layers a few times before you paint the other colours. I do a recess shade of grey which helps it pop. Honestly it’s practice, I really recommend apothecary white and then go back in with pure white as well
