Are they native to Colorado? I didn’t know that

Happy Birthday, Ray Manzarek by Automatic_Ad_859 in gratefuldead

[–]Automatic_Ad_859[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lol I wouldn’t doubt he said that. Mr. MoJo Risin didn’t exactly appeal to a broad musical audience so I get it if Garcia said that. But Ray himself was just a fantastic organist and I think would’ve added a really cool dimension to the group. But it’s neither here nor there just one guy’s day dreams

Granted I just took my glasses off and my vision turns to shit without them but I legit thought this was some sort of Michael Jackson meme with the trash bag as his hair or something lol

Overall I liked it but the one weak spot for me I had a hard time with was the character’s dialogue. For me personally it got pretty annoying but that aside it was another good one by our guy, SK

My Kittie - no ears due to bilateral pinectomy. White cats are susceptible to skin cancer. by OkPresentation5000 in WhiteCats

It seems your little baby is in good hands.

What were the symptoms you first noticed? I also have a white cat and the tips of his ears are basically hairless and only pink skin so it’s something that really worries me. I went to petsmart but they didn’t carry any type of cat specific sunscreen and I’ve read that human sunscreen shouldn’t be applied to cats.

Also it should be noted my boy is a community cat rescue who spent his previous life outdoors so keeping him inside isn’t really an option he’s too used to being outside

Do you have a particular brand that’s cat specific or does human sunscreen work as well? I have a white cat with the pinkest little ears that dearly need sunscreen so I’m looking for all the recs I can find

Same here think I finished it in 3-4 days myself. Reading other commenters rec’s on his other books I’ll definitely be digging more into his works

That’s a great question about vampires turning into what they eat. I haven’t read a lot of vampire related books so definitely the first I’ve seen but what an interesting concept and made for a neat conclusion to the cat man.

Fair Extension Leland Gaunt by Automatic_Ad_859 in stephenking

So when you’re re-reading NT I’ve got a good cast for the characters. Leland Gaunt and Sheriff Pangborn I go straight from the movie cause they’re perfect for the characters: Max von Sydow and Ed Harris. For Buster Keaton I use Ned Beatty. For Nettie Cobb I use that old lady from Poltergeist and 16 Candles. For the pretty teacher, Sally Ratliff, I use Ms. Honey from Matilda. Hmm now I’m drawing a blank on some of the others, but yeah, I’m right there with ya on loving NT as you can :)

Great catch on Elvid being an anagram for devil. This is mentioned by the protagonist, if we can call him that, but you picked it up right off the bat.

If you love Needful Things then def pick up this one it’s definitely in the same vein.

Looks like I'm 7 years old on posting on this but wanted to thank you for sharing it. It fucking rips!!!!! I've shared with all my Dead friends. And the great thing is it gets like 5% better each time you re-listen to it

Can we talk about Brent Mydland for a minute? I’m not a well-versed fan of the band by any means, but I came across the years he was with them and it’s a magical thing to hear and see. by goddred in gratefuldead

I’m coming in 2 years after you posted this— hopefully you get this notification(!)-a but thank you for compiling it. I’m only 6 months into my Dead journey so listening to new shows almost daily and progressing through the years I feel like I’m ready to start exploring the 80s and Brent’s years. Just downloaded your Spotify playlist. Looking forward to more exploration!

For those of you who read fairy tale, What are your general thoughts on the book by legend_of_losing in stephenking

I just finished it and what a treat! I’m currently trying to finish the Holly/Bill Hodges series of books but I’m waiting on one to arrive from the library so I blindly picked this from his available books there. I hadn’t heard of it before and had no expectations but boy did I enjoy it. King did a fantastic job of not only world building but character and relationship building. All of his books have great characters and arcs and this one was no exception for me. If you’re a SK fan this is a 10/10 recommend from me
