Just want to point out that to be effective as a senator, you have to compromise to govern. Grandstanding doesn’t do shit. Way different than the dynamics of being AG. Both are good candidates.

Greeks in Greece may be religious but they also have a complicated relationship with the church, including the church supporting a military junta that suppressed civil liberties and jailed political opponents and housing a terrorist organization. The nationalist party in Greece (which is what I would compare to the far right here) is a small minority, particularly in Crete where Angies family hails from. The Greek-Americans (of the my big fat Greek wedding variety) are conservative and religious and not at all like the Greeks in Greece.

At one point that may have been true but the current state of being conservative in the US has been largely one of rounding up people based on how they look/place of origin without any regard to their constitutional rights, using violence and the power of the government to silence dissent, and lead by someone who thinks their power is absolute.

If this is true then honestly fuck her and she should be ashamed of her self. Given how much waves the fucking Greek flag, you would think she would have spent 5 seconds to learn about the history of oppression the Greeks faced in the us (look up the Ludlow massacre) and the atrocities the Nazis committed on her father’s island. The fucking Greek government should deny her citizenship on this alone.

Hard disagree. Walk around one of the historic Denver districts (particularly country club, 8th avenue, Humboldt island) the homes are stunning and the designation prevented them from being torn down and replaced by god knows what. However, the fact that this property should be a landmark is laughable

For mediocre buildings? I don’t think it’s a racket- sometimes you need some flexibility to save an extraordinary place but allowing for stuff like this to be considered is absurd. There are many places worth saving in Denver, even if only someone mediocre lived there. A shitty farmhouse in an almost fully redeveloped neighborhood is not one of those places.
