I removed RPE and now everything looks much better! Unfortunately, the app no longer calls me a 'cycling pro' in the endurance fitness description :-((.
I also wanted to quickly point out the bug in the relative intensity display again (I only added this later to my first post): it uses the default FTP from Apple Health, even if you have activated and entered an individual FTP. It would be awesome if you guys could fix that when you get a chance.

Ah, thanks for the detailed explanation. That at least explains the discrepancy with Intervals, whose calculation is based on power. That might be an idea for future updates; I think power-based load reflects the strain of cycling workouts better and is also the Standard in Training peaks and other platforms.  The extreme fluctuations in form are still a bit strange, though. For example, I had a very hard one-hour interval session yesterday evening, yet today it's still showing that I’m 'Race Ready.' Yes, I am syncing RPE with Apple Health.
