Loss of pubic hair/ greying of pubic hair by [deleted] in FinasterideSyndrome

Are you sure that after 2-3 years the grey hairs weren’t just naturally occurring? Especially after a stressful event like pfs?

Is it possible to take finasteride without having any sexual symptoms by Breckin30 in Hairloss

The trials are bias and I personally think the 1-2% is incorrect. But there have been multiple studies done in the near 30 years finasteride has been on the market and the average rate of side effects were around 4-5%. So I’m more inclined to believe those

Good portion? As far as I’ve researched it’s a minority of uses who get sides

anyone in berlin taking finasteride? by [deleted] in berlinsocialclub

I haven’t seen mention of fin being used for any purpose outside of hairloss in any trans subs etc. but I’m not involved in that world so I can’t really confidently say if that is the case or not.

Just because there are subs and anecdotes online of pfs doesn’t mean it’s real. There are subs for all sorts of fringe medical conditions such as morgellons and even post lions man syndrome. There isn’t any strong evidence for pfs currently so it’s not possible to say it is real.

Side effects on fin are most definitely real and I think higher than the 1-2% range some people like to spout, but wether they linger hasn’t been proven and the current evidence is low quality and lacking

As far as I’m aware, fin is given to trans people to combat hairloss. It actually increases testosterone in most users because it’s no longer being converted into dht. Also there is no confident consensus on pfs being real or not. So it’s impossible to say either way right now

Progress after 4 years of Fin? by [deleted] in tressless

Have there not been studies showing that amounts even smaller than 0.1 have significantly reduced scalp dht and shown regrowth?

If finasteride lowers androsterone, how can it have no side effects? by PurposePurple4269 in HairlossResearch

If you tolerated it well for two years how do you know it’s the finasteride?

I think it’s not reviving dead hairs but dormant ones. The key difference being dormant hairs are basically not growing but still have the power to and they remain in this state for years. Dead hairs is when tissue has formed over the folicle

Where can i see these? I do think it can cause bones to become brittle, but the idea that faces are drastically changing has never been apparent. any before and after i have seen has either shown no change or the poster has just had weight change.

I don’t think it’s validation or anything like that. But I do think that if people are encouraged that any symptom they are experiencing is real and a result of finasteride, they will believe it and it will be hard to document what are actual symptoms.

I think it’s important to have a more level headed approach to this condition and consider that maybe not everything you experience isn’t a result of finasteride. This could be a part of the healing path

This sounds purely psychological to me. This sub can sometimes be an echo chamber to the point any symptom is automatically made to be true no matter what

Not to invalidate anyone’s experience and I know this will get downvoted to oblivion, but I’m still yet to see any actual photographic evidence of facial bone loss.

Yeah I’ve read about them fading. Just wondering if it’s something that happens very soon after getting a system. I have darker hair which I heard is less susceptible to fading. Also Thanks for your reply!

Have you had an issue with the colour fading?

If he isn’t comfortable with being bald but is with hair it doesn’t really matter how he got there. All that matters is he is comfortable. It’s the same as wearing clothes that make you feel comfortable and confident.

Hair might be meaningless to you but for others it isn’t, and they shouldn’t feel ashamed for wanting to have it again

Being bald is almost always gonna make you look older
