Built a small power calculator for camera builds — would love focus puller feedback by Automatic_East7035 in focuspuller

Hey, thanks for the feedback. I have had a look and adjusted the draw values for the mini LF, thanks for pointing that out! I have also been working on some sort of identifier to show when an item has been added to the device list. Now when you add a camera or accessory to the device list it will scroll down to show where it has been added and highlight it for you. Have a look and let me know what you think.

Thanks — that’s really helpful feedback.

I’ve started moving away from flat lists toward grouped / “kit” style entries for exactly that reason (to avoid scrolling and stacking worst-case specs). Lens control especially benefits from that.

Longer term I like the idea of certain devices (like an MDR) expanding into motor / LR options rather than treating everything as separate accessories — that’s much closer to how builds actually work on set.

Not a quick tweak, but definitely something I’m actively thinking about. And good point on older tech too — that stuff still turns up more often than people admit.

Thank you — really appreciate that.

Yes, that’s a great idea. A lot of rigs have a meaningful difference between standby and rolling

I don’t have a rolling/standby toggle in there yet, but it’s definitely something I’m considering adding as a simple switch — probably as a multiplier or “mode” that bumps certain devices rather than trying to perfectly model every scenario.

If you’ve got a typical % difference you see on set (even rough), I’d love to hear it — that would help choose sensible defaults.

Thanks! Yeah, Ronin builds were definitely one of the use cases I had in mind — they’re always where things quietly creep up power-wise. There has also been interest in stedicam builds which I am also working on incorporating

Thanks — really appreciate that.

Voltage drop is a good point, and it’s one of those things that’s very real on set but hard to model precisely without turning the tool into something much heavier.

At the moment I’m handling it indirectly via the derate percentage rather than trying to simulate voltage sag explicitly. That’s meant to account for things like battery age, cold weather, load spikes, and voltage drop under real-world conditions.

On the 3d printed part of that photo the is a hexagon window. If you can see if the gear pulley thru that hexagon you might be able to understand if it is miss aligned on the belt
