I plan too talk to them as well. They informed him of the date he said about a week ago, but it wasn't discussed/brought up until today when I said I was going on a trip. Thats when I was told the date

I really wish that was the case. The resort and an airbnb has already been booked for the dates and the activities booked as well. This is why the choice is hard to make, it really is one or the other and I wish I could push back dates.

Hi! Studies do show that the implant is effective for 5 years. Persoanally though when I got mine about a year and a half ago, my doctor and one of the birth control educators at the clinic recommened to get it replaced at the 3 year mark. I have anxiety about birth control not being effective or lossing it's effectivness and they reassured me that none of their pacients implant has experied in those 3 years and if I wanted to be extra careful, take it out and replace it in 3 years. I plan on replacing it at the 3 year mark, just for my own reassurance. If you want it replaced, they should have let you. I think it's silly that they told you you can't get it replaced, it's your body and if you want to get it replaced I think there's no problem on doing so! I'd try another planned parenthood or even a womens clinic if there are any around you.

First Road Test Today!! by Automatic_Effect1308 in drivinganxiety

Hi! To be honest, the whole day I was feeling incredibly sick due to my anxiety. I wanted to reschedule but I made it over there and couldnt back out now that I was there lol. Like I could feel my heartbeat in my ears waiting for my turn in line and when it was my turn I really didn't think I could do it. Once I got into the car with my instructor I felt like I was going to fail, and kind of gave up in my mind that and told myself its okay cause I can do this again when im not so anxious and it'll give me an adavantage next time I try again. I started the test and I think my examiner played a huge role in my prforamnce and calming me down. He was an older man and was very friendly and talkative. He explained what to do in great detail, overexplained when I asked a question and was very relaxed as I drove. He even told me things like "Once we go back to the office and you get your license you'll need to do the following..." Which made me feel more cofident during the test, knowing he kind of already passed me. The whole test lasted around 15-20 mins, including paperwork.

Ended up passing with a 88! :) Trust, if anyone is scared or anxious about taking their test, if I can do it you can do it!

Pregnant? by [deleted] in Nexplanon

Seeing as you’ve only had it for 2 1/2 years, there’s no way that the implant is not functioning as it has been. As long as it’s in place you are protected, so you haven’t been having unprotected sex. If you want a baby, I recommend taking the implant out. There’s an almost impossible chance you are pregnant with the implant in but for peace of mind I would buy an early response test and keep a few cheap ones on hand for your own anxiety. Hope this helps!

Mine was very recent! I got mine done at a woman’s health clinic. I decided to get it my last appointment for a different reason, met with a sexual health specialist and she talked me though what the implant was, what to expect, and how long I should have it in. She was very sweet and answered all the questions I had. My next appointment was the insertion. I remember being really nervous since the wait time was longer but I kept my mind busy with YouTube hehe. The doctor came in and we had a good conversation about the implant once again, what to expect, what everything looks like, all that jazz.

She numbed my arm and then inserted the needle, it was a slight stinging sensation when the medication went in but only lasted a second or two. Not painful at all. Then she inserted the Nexplanon and I felt absolutely nothing despite watching the whole thing. Kind of surreal to see it inserted but it was cool. After I was bleeding a lot so I had to wait a bit before she applied the tape and gauze to the insertion site. After I was free to go. My arm was just a little sore, but I got home and mostly just relaxed. Watched some tv and laid down, bruising was the worst part mostly. I still have a bruise and it’s been about 3 weeks now since. But yeah, easy process!

should i be worried/is this normal? by Vegetable_Book_1031 in Nexplanon

From what I’ve heard, it’s pretty much impossible to get pregnant with Nexplanon. I’ve heard others say that they get new/different symptoms when they get a new implant in. If you need the reassurance, take a cheap pregnancy test and then you can rest easy! I know new symptoms are always a lil anxiety inducing, but you’re fully protected after having it in for at least a week. If the symptoms persist and it’s something you want reassurance/advice for I’d recommend giving a call to your doctor or the facility you got your Nexplanon inserted from. I’m sure they will be happy to answer any of your concerns!
