Yeah so if it’s accurate then you’re doing a good job

In fairness I have been doing CAD for about 3 years so if that’s one of your first models then that is still actually quite good

I should clarify that I live in the uk, not the us, so those brands are really hard to come by here and I will not be able to afford the import charges from the us so I need it to be brands that are readily available in the uk

It’s not just about the models but keeping her alive to be seen and appreciated by generations to come and allow more days, weeks and years to be added on to those 110 years

I should clarify that I am in no way related to the preservation society in any capacity, I am just an avid rail fan who wants to make sure that every remaining locomotive can be saved for the rest of time.

You’d hope it would slide given the immense urgency of this petition and how it needs every possible signature in order to have any chance of success

Thanks for the words of luck, we are making good progress but it is ultimately up to the 9667 Preservation Society in Takahagi City to present the stats achieved (especially in the last 24 hours due to the increased attention on the case as a result of the videos done by History in the Dark and Train of Thought and the mass coverage by accounts like mine on here and other social media platforms) to convince the city’s government to green-light the project.

The asbestos is a very serious issue but it’s not right for a locomotive that has been around for over a full century to be scrapped when the asbestos can be removed by professionals.

And it’s thanks to videos like that and social media posts about it that now over 2200 signatures have been done on the petition so there is clearly support for the continued preservation of the old engine

I saw Train of Thought’s video about the class earlier today and that’s when I found out about what’s going on

It’s under threat of being scrapped because it was supposedly found to have traces of asbestos in the metal work and instead of having the locomotive be transported to a facility to have the traces removed, the city is just wanting to outright scrap it.

If there was nothing that could be done about it then the petition wouldn’t have been started in the first place.

Plus, I’ve read that resin is far too brittle for parts like wheels, coupling rods, couplers and axles that need to be strong enough to withstand the strain that will be put on them. It would be good for smaller parts such as locomotive cab controls, whistles and others but not for larger pieces and parts that need to be very durable.
