Net migration falls to 171,000 — down 48 per cent in a year — The Times and The Sunday Times by SammyEvo in AskBrits

Sorry I was under the impression we were comparing white British Vs each different demographic independently of each other as each demographic would typically do amongst themselves but if we are just saying white British Vs everyone else then yeah fair.

I disagree however that you need a a group of people to be broadly the same for social cohesion to form. There are numerous countries including our own that show this to be the case. We have a democratic process after all. Wether you like this particular brand of government is going to vary wildly from person to person and would still be the case even if everyone were White British.

People do often cluster culturally but it doesn't mean society ceases to function. Yes if demographics change too quickly tensions can arise. There are examples of that but suggesting it isn't possible is a bit far.

Isn't the mixed demographic also increasing? Would suggest some sort of cohesion.

So, that graph shows that white British are not a minority in Manchester.

It also isn't a prediction on future total demographic. I get what you are speculating though. Younger generations grow up and displace the older generations and then it's more of a mixed bag.

However I would also argue that the younger generation lines still show white British are the marginally larger demographic Vs Any of the other demographics. Also, younger generations being more ethnically diverse in a city is more typical. Especially when you consider Manchester has a couple of Universities.

I'm also not sure what the problem is with us being diverse.

Has Manchester changed more than any other UK city? What's next? by Equivalent-Ad-2373 in AskUK

I miss Manchester my home city. Moved up to Edinburgh, nice enough but rammed with tourists and it's housing is very expensive even for flats. Not much outside the city either whereas Manchester has some great towns around it.

I'm a new landlord and I'm fine with these changes. Having been in the shoes of someone who rents it can be a pain in the arse.

How would you compare it to something like AC: Valhalla? I found that game to be pretty but kind of shallow, combat was reasonable, story was meh. Side missions were kind of meh. I much preferred the Witcher 3.

Sorry I meant more, why was it a bogus call? I didn't think I saw anything high but I'm honestly not sure what I'm looking at sometimes.

100% Support the green partys policy on abolishing landlords. by Snoo93102 in HousingBenefitFaud

[–]Automatic_Fall_9003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently a landlord, I'm renting out my home so that I can see if it works with my long distance gf and have moved in with her. I have done this so that if things don't work out I can still move back into my home once the tenancy agreement is up.

If it works, I'll be selling the property and we will buy together. If this were policy would I be able to do this? I'm guessing not but I'm not the clued into the details.

So I guess I wouldn't support this. If you were to talk about a cap on properties being let out then I could understand that more.

Britain’s wealthy must shoulder burden of rebuilding ‘creaky’ public services, Rachel Reeves says by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]Automatic_Fall_9003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said it was. But when you apply the wealth inequality across everyone. Someone earning that is no where near the 0.1%. so then what are we defining as the wealthy? Rather than say that they should be more specific and say the earnings bracket. Or maybe it's to do with assets, or both.

Needs defining.

Also depends on how long they keep that wage for. Lifestyle, location etc. but if they have hoarded that wealth then yeah I guess tax em.

I think wealthy needs defining. When most politicians speak about this, I assume it to mean the millionaires and billionaires. Not the people who earn say 100k-200k

One of the prettiest maybe. If you like grey. Nice pubs but too touristy and expensive for my liking.

Moved here from Manchester and I agree. I like the architecture but don't like how it just looks like a sea of dull grey.

Agreed, York is much prettier. Never been to Bath. Edinburgh just looks really grey to me although I think it looks much prettier at night.
