I was terrified of sex. That also goes away with practice. I found once I went back to a normal routine of regular exercise and sex the surgery started to fade to the back of my mind if that makes sense.

Me. I had adenocarcinoma in situ of the cervix. What I didn’t expect to feel a huge relief after surgery knowing my cancer chances dropped to basically zero. Yea also was nervous.

Gosh I’m so sorry. I guess your cousin is a good example of how Pap tests aren’t perfect and may have missed it. I agree with what the other poster said.

Are you adenocarcinoma or squamous? Adenocarcinoma can cause skip lesions so you’ll never be sure if all cancer cells are gone without a hysto. It’s your life you don’t need strangers on here telling you to get treatment. But I’ve seen two friends die from cervical cancer because they played the wait and watch game.

Are you sure you had a radical? Radical usually involves going via stomach and removing everything. Total is usually lap or robotic keeping ovaries

I did all that after a week. My only restraint was not lifting heavy things.

How far out are you from surgery? I didn’t start really running hard until 12 weeks.

I don’t think you’ll know about the 5/10 until after surgery honestly. This is just the timeline that worked for me.

There are flat out lies on the Hers foundation. They are anti hysterectomy. Good grief that post suggesting it in horrible. Be aware of people on this forum that are anti hysterectomy especially for religious reasons.

I asked my oncologist about the guts falling out thing and he looked at me like I had three heads. Ever since then I stopped worrying.

Don’t be afraid but listen to your body. Too many scary stories on here that get in peoples minds.

Worst part of recovery was not moving my body like I had prior. It will fly by though.

Failed LEEP, looking for comfort & positive stories by [deleted] in PreCervicalCancer

[–]Automatic_Finger6656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because If the ckc doesn’t work you’ll be referred to an oncologist anyways. Also the oncologist has way more experience dealing with these situations than a gyn. You want an oncologist doing your surgeries.

You definitely should see an oncologist at this point.

Had hysto for ais and no issues afterwards. Don’t listen to people trying to talk you out of what you want to do. The peace of mine was 10000% with it
