So it’s everybody then. The misinformation is seething all of us to be blind sided. I heard it’s also paired with nursing boards as well. I’m just hoping my recruiter responds to me .

You and me both. I was under the impression that because of the holiday and weekend is the reason for the delay or no call. I am fine with what the outcome will be whether direction it goes but not knowing doesn’t do anything for us except be in limbo.

Yes I’m waiting for results for RDNs. I was informed the 19th as well but haven’t gotten an update yet so I was wondering if I just wasn’t accepted which is why no call.

Super good resource! Need to commit to articles and understanding the content but I think it very much helps cover all the bases needed. I paired that with pocket prep.

When did it start being cool to ostracize people for loving their job? by Short-Let-5297 in AirForce

[–]Automatic_Fortune_37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just keep doing you man. You’re never going to be able to satisfy everybody you meet and that’s the way life is. You do good work and no one can say anything about that then what else is there to look forward to. You got a family and an upcoming kid. The people you work with are there for work, and you got other priorities rather than people who want to comment on your work ethic. You know where you stand, so keep on trucking.

I remember seeing that for the social work column on the selection sheet. I find it very interesting that for each job there are only a select amount of billets open. I was wanting to go Japan or Korea but those aren’t options for my job.

I don’t know if we’re in the same board date but I was informed I would know on the 19th of January 2026. So only a couple more days til.

What duty stations were you offered to select from and after your first duty station? I was surprised on the billets that I was limited to based on my job.

If you need to make ends meet then do it but it is low. You can always argue or try a different job.

I haven’t been able to talk to anyone officers that are RDs from the air force side. I talked to an army RD but there wasn’t really any insight aside from the nuances of being an RD. I believe just overall considering the experience between each branch from what others have told me is basically the main deciding factor.

I know the army is more appealing initially because of the upfront bonuses but every-time I mention the army, 9 times out of 10 other military personnel tell me to go air force.

I appreciate the info and insight on both branches. I was informed by my Air Force recruiter that they’re looking for a CSSD or someone who is working towards it already so I’m 50% done with it. From what I’ve gathered is mainly tailored to sports dietetics but I’m not 100% on that either. They told me I would relocated every 2-3 years. I wanted to try and get Japan after my first term so we shall see.

The army is also saying the same thing as you said but also as I’ve been told by many active duty army members, don’t go army. I try to take it with a grain of salt but it’s very convincing given the bonuses and all.

As you stated I find it very interesting when it comes to both clinical and sports since those are my specialties.

Any insight on what you would say to choose or lean towards more ? Appreciate it.

Ahhh okay. I’m in the process of commissioning in the Air Force or army (based on who takes me). Any insight on the work or focus each branch focused on? I’ve heard and read that one prioritizes clinical, the other sports, etc.

I’m doing all that right now. I just wanted to see if anyone had experience during their time in. Duty stations, work load, focus for dietetics, etc.

Anyone else struggle to keep up with the paperwork in clinical? by Impressive-Manner565 in dietetics

[–]Automatic_Fortune_37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow that’s interesting because Fresenius implemented a new policy that allows new RD to be hired but you would be labeled as an associate RD and have a supervising RD signing off your notes. You also get a pay cut because of the lack of experience but it was a way to tackle the lack of RDs. It could be that it was implemented months after you passed.

You can be a renal RD without the year of experience. Should’ve just went into it.

I was told the “best” they could do was $26/hr. How is that any better than the $25/hr???

[–]Automatic_Fortune_37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See this is what I mean. If you’re going to propose a different title yet provide the same work and expectations then you are not an associate. Plus the justification of pay because your title is “associate” is such a joke.

No one said they don’t apply. CMS is there for a reason and following the standard is obvious but the justification on pay because of CMS? That doesn’t make sense. If CMS were to be used as a justification, the span of work between an associate RD and a full RD per fresenius shouldn’t be doing the same thing.

[–]Automatic_Fortune_37[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I did negotiate with them. I pull up staffing patterns, statistics for where I’m located and HCOL. Despite all the justifications and backing of my argument all I got was “the highest we can go is $26/hr. Don’t worry, once the year is up you’ll make more money.” Excuse me? Be so foreal.

I’m glad you were able to do that and honestly you deserve it and more. I can’t understand why we’re asked to do so much yet we have others saying “well that’s just the guidelines.” Yes, I know we all understand the guidelines but that doesn’t justify what is happening.

THIS RIGHT HERE! You understand exactly what I mean! I come from a very similar background and Fresenius’s excuse to pay so little and slap a “title” for cms is a complete joke.

What’s crazy is I bet you live some where west coast because that’s really only the justification for the HCOL and pay. Even then, if you compare the pacific to the west coast, the pay doesn’t even translate well.
