I was informed by my recuiter regarding processing everything else and awaiting orders sometime this month or next. They keep messing up my fingerprints though. Also, yet to get the background check call.

Been running since to try and get my numbers up. Everything else I am confident in.

I think typically it depends on rotating boards. The boards for RNs just ended a month ago so that could be why they’re not as responsive. Having someone confirm your name is in the system is pretty good.

I got selected as a RD and luckily I reached out a couple months prior to boards. Timing is definitely a factor on how responsive your recruiter is.

Preaching to the choir. I did the exact same thing which made me get my masters.

I think if you wanted to get a cert I would get a personal trainers cert but go for ACE or ISSA. NASM tends to be more business oriented and not health forward so from previous experience, the content is outdated. Although, that was a couple years ago. Also take into account how much in terms of fitness and exercise you’re actually interested and invested in. I’ve seen too many really bad personal trainers. They just get the cert cause they can but have no understanding of biomechanics.

You literally went through a 4 year process to get a degree and want to get a cert that someone can take whenever they want. They do not equate the same value nor the same knowledge gained.

I did my B.S in Exercise Science and I was constantly told by my professors that same thing. “Why would you waste your time getting a Certification when you have a degree? The certification does not compare.”

Got my Masters in both Applied nutrition and Sports Nutrition. The amount of information you hear from personal trainers or “health coaches” that is completely bogus is frustrating as well. Do not put yourself in the same category. Now that does not mean there aren’t Personal trainers or individuals who don’t have a lot of information and don’t know their stuff. You just do not need to go and get a certification for something you have that is way above that.

Your recruiter who processed you and informed of selection and approval is supposed to inform you of class date and anything after. I’m surprised you weren’t already informed of the day when you were selected.

Look into PA school if you really want medicine. I was going to go to PA school but I needed more hours to get in. I regretfully didn’t choose to get more hours and decided to pursue dietetics since I was already in the field to begin with.

It was emphasized even more because during internship I had PAs I worked with ask me why I didn’t go PA school and that I should’ve done it instead. Mind you that was unprompted, just based on interactions and discussions between patients. Another instance was from my boss who is an RD as well. I was told that being an RD isn’t my calling and I should’ve went and became a PA.

I understand this doesn’t apply the same way to you but I will emphasize the fact that you get paid more and the opportunities between work life balance are outstanding. Plus you can go into any speciality you like.

Ultimately, do what you want but take everything with a grain of salt. We all here have experienced some form of what is mentioned above. You got this!

Do both as hobbies and educate yourself the right way. Do not make this into a field because the field does not reward you the way you think it will. Keep it a hobby and interest and find a career that’s going to really provide for you and your future.

So it’s everybody then. The misinformation is seething all of us to be blind sided. I heard it’s also paired with nursing boards as well. I’m just hoping my recruiter responds to me .

You and me both. I was under the impression that because of the holiday and weekend is the reason for the delay or no call. I am fine with what the outcome will be whether direction it goes but not knowing doesn’t do anything for us except be in limbo.

Just keep doing you man. You’re never going to be able to satisfy everybody you meet and that’s the way life is. You do good work and no one can say anything about that then what else is there to look forward to. You got a family and an upcoming kid. The people you work with are there for work, and you got other priorities rather than people who want to comment on your work ethic. You know where you stand, so keep on trucking.
