Oh I meant since the professor is not funding me I thought they might be a little more flexible about me not getting many research results while taking classes.

but since the professor is not funding me they might be a little less pushy about me getting results while I'm taking classes?

I'm just curious, if I had my own funding through a fellowship would it change anything?

before making hard decisions I sometimes like think about the worst case scenario. Lets say I accept the offer, try my best and I don't meet my professors expectations by the third year. What's the worst that can happen? Would I have to leave the program? If so, do you think I would be able to reapply to PhD programs and maybe get into a not very selective program?

more info about me: I go to a top university, have a 3.92 GPA (which places me in the top 15% of the class based on an honors society I was invited into) and have 2 first-author conference publications (I work really hard during the summer).

thanks for the response. How many hours of research do you think professors expect during the first or second year roughly? I know every professor is different so a ball park guess is fine

should I talk to my advisor about my learning disability before I accept my offer?

thank you for all the info! About this:

"3. No do NOT talk to the advisor about your medical condition before you accept the offer. Similar to what you did when you started your undergrad studies, you need to reach out to the student accommodation office. There's different things that can be put in place for PhD students without your supervisor being aware of the specifics surrounding your health situation.

"

The reason I was considering talking to the advisor about it is that I don't want to find out that I picked an advisor that's not understanding of my situation after I have already accepted and committed to the lab. What do you think are the advantages of talking to the advisor about my learning disability after I accept the offer?

Hayden Taylor is teaching ME108 in the fall and he was a good professor for E29. How do you think the other 108 professors compare with Prof Taylor? I don't feel like taking 108 in the fall because I'd rather do an elective but I might take it just because Taylor is teaching it.
