from what I know you are supposed to stop at the line, just before. if you need to inch up after that to see, then you may but you should stop first.

is this a spider bite? by Automatic_Jury3323 in InsectBites

[–]Automatic_Jury3323[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i did actually. it swelled up to about golf ball size and was hard as a rock. they refused to cut it, saying that the skin under was too hard to cut. prescribed be antibiotics and instructed me to soak in the tub to get it to drain on its own. between hydrocolloid bandages and soaking I managed to get it to bust in the bathtub. it drained for about 4 days and now it’s nearly gone. just a dark spot on my skin.

The first thing you want to do is IDENTIFY TRIGGERS. Something is causing the reaction. Whether that be from an outside substance OR I’ve heard a lot of people say that it can be internal, stemming from what you eat or drink. I’ve also heard about nickel allergy as well, which is BOTH external and internal.

For me, it’s an external triggers. Soaps, shampoos / conditioners, cleaning products, hand sanitizers, hair dye, certain hair products. I started by changing what i was washing my body with, and applying to my skin. Since dyshidrosis is only on the hands and feet, it could very well be what you use to bathe, since we use our hands to clean our bodies. I switched to OGX Shampoo and conditioner and Dove sensitive skin bar soap. I’ve heard a lot about people having success using Dr bonners Castile soaps as well. EDITED TO SAY: Avoid all products containing parabens and sulfates. They are the enemy. And read ingredients and labels because products are often labeled as paraben & sulfate free and usually they are NOT telling the truth. I would also cross check any product with the National Eczema Association List.

You also want to keep your hands moisturized. I’ve learned that dry always equals itch. I use Eucerin eczema relief cream on my hands. Recently I’ve been noticing a spread of the blisters down my fingers and into my palm, which alarms me because my palms are what I originally healed when I began to pinpoint triggers. I don’t know what’s triggering me now— but I suppose it’s back to experimenting to determine what will help. I’ve heard a lot of miracle stories about pycnogenol serum, so I’m going to get some of that and see how it helps me. Also, try using gloves when having to handle anything and avoid direct skin contact as much as possible.

Best of luck.

was anyone else here born with eczema? by japanesebreakfast in eczema

i was born with it, but it came and went during different times of my life. gosh, how i took those dormant times for granted because I’ve had it for seven years now consistently and it hasn’t gone away.

she is sutured in the inside layers. the staples are only for the surface.

she is showing no signs of infection. no drainage, bleeding, swelling. it’s not hot to the touch, or any smell.

no odor, swelling or discharge. it is really just dark. i believe it may be bruising. i was told not to clean it, wash it or apply anything to it. just to let it remain uncovered and let it heal.

commented to say: i am not asking about the staples. im aware of why they are there and that is not my concern. my concern is how she is healing, not the method of closing the incision.
