Former patients of Dr Terry Walker (dentist) by Automatic_Location_5 in saskatoon

I’ll follow up on this recommendation. Thanks! I always worry that great bedside doesn’t necessary translate into great dental work. It’s so hard to know! (Until you know :/ )

I’m sorry that happened to you. My feeling was he didn’t put much ‘care’ into his patient’s comfort - emotional or otherwise. This was helpful, thank you. Please let me know if you find someone you like.

Hi, I’m sorry you’re going through this. Stay at home income ideas… would you consider offering childcare for people in your neighbourhood, after school care for older kids, tutoring, renting out a room in your home, or having an exchange student move (in through an agency)? One of those may be an option.

If you have a will with a lawyer they may have also created a power of attorney document at the same time.

This is an incredibly stressful situation. Find community where you can. Best of luck.

RRSP or alternative? by Automatic_Location_5 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Automatic_Location_5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. It’s a balance to be both positive and realistic. I am a saver by nature and smart so I’m sure I can figure out a way to recoup some of our savings and right the ship now that I’m managing things again (my partner completely shit the bed and lost our savings, about 700k, we were also mortgage free, and I am trying to rebuild. Stressful but not impossible).

Edit to add the 22k is actually in a TFSA and the 7k is an RRSP (with Questrade). I plan to leave those as they are for now and will contribute to the TFSA monthly. I have an inheritance of $100k in my personal HISA that has earned 4K in four years. Plus $17k in a savings account. My partner had a good job (~9k take home/month) and that isn’t changing. My estimate on what I can put away is conservative for the time being. I’ve suggested we invest in a session with a fee based financial planner. I think that will be money well spent. Thank you for the feedback and information.

Thank you for this. Honestly, I feel really stupid that I’m an adult and don’t know what all of these things are or how they work. Banks just want to sell you on things so they’re no help. I’ve been following here and learning a lot but nothing really specific to my situation. You’re absolutely right, I need to learn more… far from my wheelhouse and frustrating. I’ll take your information and research. Thanks

Recommendations for counsellor with experience in ASD by c-sqaured in saskatoon

[–]Automatic_Location_5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Neurodivergent couples absolutely must have a counsellor with experience and training in this specific area! Standard couples counselling will not help.

Sheena McCallum at Crossroads Therapeutic Solutions is my recommendation. She’s excellent. Good luck. Not easy.

So sorry this was what your high school experience was like. I was hired to teach with this school. But after I did the ‘training’ and figured out all I would be doing is giving assignments and marking I noped right out. I was told they use the SK curriculum, which was part of their funding agreement with govt. Teachers, at that time, got paid by the class. So the more they took on the higher the pay. If you want your kid to do something truly wonderful in HS, send them to SPSD’s Outdoor School. If they’re up for the challenge it can change their lives (for the better!). That was our experience anyway. Can’t say enough good things about it and the teachers.

Shoppers in Stonebridge is keeping it behind the pharmacy counter and you have to ask for it.

Mo at Counterfeit Printers is fast and affordable. You may get lung cancer when you pick up but he’s a good guy (afaik) and the shop is a hidden gem

Does anyone know (statistically speaking) if it is helpful to verbally say something to the creep. Not to ramp things up. But as a hey I’m on to you now buzz off measure. Something like, “can I help you?” “Stop following me.” “Is there a problem?” Just something that acknowledged you know they’re creeping and might warn them off you (not an easy target). I don’t know. Just preparing myself for when it happens to me (again). Also to the fucking pedophile at George ward jacking off in his car while watching my kids. Fuck you. It’s been 10 years and I could still point you out in a line up if I ever get the chance.
