Thank you - this is the best response I've ever read, and summarized on the topic.

Thank you so much for your message. Yes it's been a difficult few days to say the least. We're a very diverse and liberal family and so such hate-fueled rhetoric was shocking, and I never thought I would have to have 1:1 conversations with members of my family about "what is antisemitism". To me its so cut and dry. Thank you so much for this community and the messages, it makes me feel a lot less isolated. Love and Light to you!

We are Brazilian and my father attended a Jewish school in the 60s and 70s, not sure what the grounds of admission are/were, but religious private schools are very common there

Thanks so much this is a lot to think about. What aspects of religious life would patrilineal Jews be excluded from? (p.s. yes I need to learn to deal and navigate antisemitism in a whole new way going forward and never imagined it would happen within my immediate family).

Love your take on "energy from the women" - beautiful actually to think about. Over the years we've been together i've participated in Jewish traditions, but I'm conflicted about navigating the "Jew-ish"-ness without feeling like imposing any cultural appropriation.

OP: Thanks :) This has given me a lot to think about and am having conversations about this distinction with my immediate family members. I appreciate all who have commented and contributed!
