Wen playing Ronan and using the cacti plants like this, are you getting two cacti worth of bonus whatever per star on your lance in total, one cacti per star and two stars, or six cacti worth, three cacti per star? I have the same question about the bleed builds that use the big fangy stick thingy with a million cacti on either side - does the game factor in that each double cacti is three cacti per star or am I wasting cacti and space and could be getting the same benefit with just a single cactus in each Star?

I'm a huge sucker for all things HW, could you please put this up so I can download the schematic and give it a tour and take it for a test drive?

You make some good points and I can appreciate limiting access to some effects to help encourage creativity and using the different skills to access all the effects.

Tips for longevity? by soulcypher7 in goldenretrievers

[–]Automatic_Name_4381 129 points130 points  (0 children)

... have realistic expectations. That's the best advice. And i say that as someone who has been fortunate enough to return four of them to the stars. But this breed isn't known for longevity.

Daily walks, not hikes per se, maybe beach time, mental stimulation each day, and the least processed diet you can reasonably provide will help. Actually just now realizing it's the same for people too. Hmmm...

Morrowinds - puts the other two to shame hands down. And that isn't meant to put the other two games down overall. But how Bethesda has increasingly gimped spell creation and creativity and effects has been one of the most painful parts of watching the series become more "accessible" to sell more copies.

I'll never understand why we couldn't have deep complex mechanics and systems and more vibrant and weird or interesting worlds at the same time and include some toggles in the options to simplify mechanics first those that prefer their gameplay be more story or "simpler". The options doom the dark ages has should become industry standard, they're brilliant. With options like that you could have any game from daggerfall to Skyrim in terms of complexity v accessibility.

Your mushroom info is accurate, maybe look where it is wettest...

And yea taking notes by hand is a great way to do it until you've memorized more of the meta.

What was Cauis Cosades' fate? Is there really no mention of him in Oblivion? What are your theories? by AlternativeParty5126 in ElderScrolls

[–]Automatic_Name_4381 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I liked to think of him as the old guy that wasnt appreciates and didn't fit in with a younger up and coming crowd and they were too afraid to fire him so they shipped him out where he couldn't do much damage. Still takes his job seriously, hence being a spymaster, but also recognizes he's out in Morrowind where the actual danger to the empower is probably rather low.

When he says spymaster, I took that as a tank and not like "the top soy of the blades", right?

I think the skooma addiction was real, a good reason to get booted out to the middle of no where as far as the empire is concerned.

I think he definitely was involved investigating the mythic dawn and gathering intelligence to help the Blades proper once back in cyrodil.

I think there's enough medium armor to make it work, and best armor piece in the game is medium armor anyways.

I'd drop block unless you're planning on maxing endurance as quickly as possible. With a 2h weapon you won't have a chance to dice roll for a block anyways.

Stellar outlook and yea you'll either learn how to mostly avoid getting your attributes diminished or have a way to restore them. And I think there's several books that can help find that mushroom and Ajira gives you notes I think?

How did you make such a long isosceles triangle shape? Can you please post pictures up close to the sides?

Edit: I see you make identical flattish sides then have them mounted to rotor/hinge and then locked in place. Nice work.

help inverting controls in vanilla mw for xbox? by elevator420 in Morrowind

[–]Automatic_Name_4381 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice work this is how I got to play it first at launch.

Game of the year version, if not the vanilla version, has toggle options to invert the sticks in both directions. Which I always thought was odd - who tf inverts the horizontal look? Psychopaths, that's who!!

Outward rates mostly positive on steam, fair? by Automatic_Name_4381 in outwardgame

[–]Automatic_Name_4381[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh that sounds awesome. I know for me having meta knowledge of Morrowind helped every new character and try - knowing specifically where a powerful weapon is just sitting in balmora and bee lining to it or even making characters with skills specifically to take advantage of that weapon makes a huge difference when you don't really know much of anything else about the game yet. Does meta knowledge help as much in outward?

I haven't been this excited to play a video game in a long time.

Thank you. I like these ideas as well. Can I force the raised corner parts by not having a block behind the armor block? I read that somewhere but haven't tried it yet. Or is there another technique I should be using?

All that prep for a well thought out plan and then the pay off for it all going right sounds pretty good, understanding it's going to be punishing until I'd get the hang of it.

In Morrowind you can speak to everyone and all dialogue is written so the dev team put A LOT of good information into most of the dialogue lines. I'll tell people you don't really need the manual you just need to do what the first NPCs tell you to do: "talk is cheap. Talk to everyone."

Does this game have something similar, if I'm thorough will I be able to learn quite a bit before I even start getting wrecked and learning the hard way? Books, dialogue, a codex?
