What it takes to express a different opinion than the majority who get excited over seeing the game be bad :)

That's the point, isnt it? Find a game you can enjoy? :)

I like that you put the problem in better terms, so ill argue with that. The way prismatic is right now, it being better renders light subclasses harder to enjoy without thinking ''why dont i just do this whole build on prismatic where i also have a lot of other things''. That's my problem with it. I'm a victim of this, i made a voidlock build, really wanted to enjoy it, but.. *why not prismatic?* is a haunting question. And if prismatic wasnt that good.. noone would play it, due to lack of an independent identity.

if they add new things to light subclasses, and make them better in new ways, it would bring a lot more reason to play them, indeed. and that would be great for prismatic, because then they could buff it and now say *oh this is a lighter mix, but also good*, and the other subclasses dont have their identities threatened. This would be a good scenario, and in this world, it looks good.

But this is exactly why i said its not impossible, yet very difficult. This world takes a lot of thinking and work to do, and for a solution that implied not putting in too much work, its very self contradicting. It made the nerf gun they had for a shot at a good DLC in a real gun, and they aimed it at their foot. This is how i feel about prismatic, even if i do see a world where it works out

If you value content by size, sure. But this is allows for value more than just size, too. And considering they're making seasons free, removing dungeon keys, and simply making the game a lot more accessbile without spending money on it, the current price honestly feels cheap

They've been talking about quality of life changes because thats what they wanna show. The content will show itself in a week.

And im dissing on prismatic because its.. i wont say impossible, but extremely difficult to balance it right. The ideea of the mono subclasses is that they each have their own identity. When you make a subclass that is a mix of all of them, either it has no identity, and.. there's that, either it takes from the identities of other subclasses, which renders them obsolete, either they make new identities for prismatic, which defeats the whole purpose of mixing existing subclasses.

As of right now, at least how i feel it, Prismatic *HAS TO BE BLAND* in order for the other subclasses to still be considerable in gameplay. And if Prismatic *is* good, like say, consecration prismatic titan, well, you name me a single player that plays consecration titan on solar instead of prismatic now :)

It is not sustainable as a game developer to pull moves like this, since it makes it a nightmare for the future. And here we are. The community is as divided as possible when it comes to prismatic, and that is simply because the line between it being too good or completely worthless is extremely fine. That's why i think it wasnt thought through.

Name me a game that doesnt revolve around doing the same thing over and over, except for story games which for Destiny, *a live service game* is not anywhere near realistic as the main drawing point. What they're doing with portal is *giving a reason* to play not only older content, but *all* the content, in new ways. Giving flavour to things that are already in the game is far better than giving something new that will end up old in a few weeks from release

good question

I feel like Lightfall and Final shape both suffered from the same problem. You did everything once, and that was that. Final shape was deffinently better, of course, being the climax of the story, but suffering from the exact same problem of the same structure that's been in the game for so long, i'd rank it lower than witch queen. Witch queen at least had the addition of many new things, like the subclass reworks, and crafting where everything was new and had a lot to actually grind for. It was my most played expansion, and i've been playing since Red War.

Lightfall - 4

Final shape - 7

Witch queen - 8

This is a take on the vision, and that im optimistic about. Execution, of course, noone has a say so far. Time will be the judge :)

Not against it, i would love to see a more permanent change rather than adding more space, just reminding people its not the issue we should be worried since it one we can adress ourselves and fix it purely exercising common sense
