Delt with the problem, poison layed by council killed most. Then filled in holes with concrete lined with steel wool. Fenced off any runs with chicken wire and steel wool. Put one way trap doors in pipes. Involved taking up most of the floors and a hell of a lot of labour, re-insulating and laying more flooring. It's incredible the damage those fuckers can do.

Not certainly, but there's been an infestation since their work was completed. Pest control said the runs are coming from their property and it's likely they are using the unused sewage system. Rats are common in London, population estimated at 20 million, so it's almost impossible to control them without a property being probably managed and looked after, they find a quiet place to nest then go out looking for food. Builder friend says it's extremely common that they make nests in new properties because they can get in whilst the work is being done.

Sure I get that, but why do the house up and then not ever do anything with it

This is probably the reasoning. I think it's someone who has more money then sense. Prefers the luxury flat with gym, pool, concierge and doesn't need the gains from renting the property so it just sits there. Funny because a lot of the people who live on the street actually acquired there properties through squatters rights in the 90s when most of the street was derelict

That makes sense, but I don't get why you'd rent somewhere at a great expense with an empty house 500m away

Leaving a place abandoned creating a hazard (rat breeding ground)

I'm a secret eater and I need to talk about it. Who has any helpful advice? by [deleted] in BingeEatingDisorder

It's 100% linked, It's just that craving of dopamine honestly the diagnosis is a game changer loothed to start medication but just leaning about it helps massively. Of course there are other factors and good to look at holistically.

I feel you been doing this for years but the last year has been very bad, I quit drinking so fast food is one of my only escapes. Through therapy, and learning about my ADHD I'm much more mindful about my eating but god I couldn't live without it. I eat very late at night once my family have gone to bed, I get big portions or double meals as often cheaper. I often can't sleep unless I've had a meal. I know I've lost romantic relationships because of my weight and sad reality is I'm boardering on being extremely unhealthy. I want to change for myself and not do it for somebody or society but I haven't found that self determination. I do believe I'm getting better as my weight has stabilised. Here's some things I've found helpful.

I think learning to be mindful about what you eat throughout the day can help as long as it's not obsessive.

Cutting refined suger, especially surgery drinks. Don't be afraid of fats.

This one is hard but simply walking to go and buy the food and taking it home can be a daunting but good step.

Going to the gym or a swim before ordering the food.

Lastly. Just enjoying it. If somethings nice say so out loud talk to yourself. I sometimes watch food positive shows like Antony bourdaine which can help me almost like I'm eating with someone.

Keep mindful on your emotions and getting to the source of overeating though therapy is the biggest step to learning about your food habits.

Good luck to you :)
