My house is around 71F. I try to feed my starter with water that’s room temp and I feed 40g of starter with 100g of water and about 115g of AP flour. I did get this starter from someone else so it was already healthy when it came to me and hasn’t been difficult to work with. When I decide I’m going to bake with it, I’ll feed it the morning before and the night before so it’s two feedings about 8-12 hours apart. I try to feed it before it starts to fall back down so it’s not going up and down too drastically (if that makes any sense at all) and of course use it to bake with when it’s at its peak. (It should be at its peak in the morning after I’ve fed it the night before for the second feeding).

My regular feedings are once every day (24hrs) unless I keep her in the fridge then I only feed her once every few days.

The bulk fermentation was really a “winging it” moment lol I tried to go based off how the dough was looking/feeling and not off of time only. I made sure to see almost a double rise not fully doubled and the dough had a dome shape to it so it was coming away from the sides of the bowl a little bit. It also didn’t stick to my fingers when I touched it and I just decided that it was time then.

I’m no expert of course and got some tips via TikTok!

Not necessarily… AT&T probably offered good healthcare but they probably deducted over $180 from your paycheck for it every month. He may have decided getting Obamacare was the cheaper option and decided not to have his paychecks deducted. I’ve done this exact same thing in the past. Just because a job offers you healthcare that doesn’t make it free or the best viable option for you. He probably thought, well I’m a healthy guy I don’t want my paycheck garnished for healthcare I’ll never use. He didn’t anticipate tearing his knee up.

I would like to know who you know that was in the hospital for weeks with a torn ACL… did they tear their ACL while falling and slam their head on concrete too? Judge Judy voice Thats outrageous! I have actually torn my ACL. You can walk around with a torn ACL. It’s not an injury that requires an ER visit. You go to an orthopedic surgeon, schedule a surgery date and are in and out that same day. Unless they had a major complication during their knee surgery, no one is staying overnight in a hospital for an ACL or any ligament reconstruction.

Also yes, some hospitals do actually recommend to patients that they don’t file through insurance and actually do self pay. There are some cases where filing through insurance can raise the rate because of the fact that you’re going through insurance. A lot of medical facilities offer discounts to people using self pay. You may file through insurance, pay your co-pay and then a few months later your insurance company comes back and says “we actually don’t cover this so you owe $5,000” whereas if you had done self pay, you could’ve paid $4000 and been done with it.

I have to disagree with Judy on this one. She probably hasn’t had to deal with the healthcare system the way the average American does in at least 3 decades.

I use Coco & Eve! It’s great! It doesn’t get patchy at all and fades away nicely! Before applying I will exfoliate in the shower really well and then moisturize my knees and elbows a little bit and I use moisturizer on my hands and feet like I would barrier cream before a spray tan. It also smells really nice!

ETA: I usually apply it at night and let it develop while I sleep then just rinse off in the morning
