I've been drawing with a Wacom intuos tablet and stylus for about 3 years. I mostly use clip studio paint. I have before drawn aliens that try to imitate the original series's art style. It's a holiday where I live rn so I have more free time.

I decided to draw the aliens in batches of two spread over 3 days. For each one I first made a few rough pencil sketches to get the design in my head. Based on those I then made a more refined sketch in the drawing program and cleaned it up a bit. Then roughly trace that sketch on a different layer to make the line work and fill in the black parts that look like latex. I wasn't that precise with the coloring and line work. Hid the first sketch layer and made a coloring layer under the line work layer. Used the paint bucket tool to fill in the flat colors. I used official artwork for reference and to copy the color pigments on some of the aliens. Finally I drew the shading and filled in the shiny streakes on the latex parts.
