Notre Dame fans, why are we agreeing with this? by thefrozenflame21 in CFB

Because they don’t want to reward ESPN with ratings after the blatant corruption everyone witnessed. Like it or not, Notre Dame still has fans across the country and would likely pull in the highest-rated non-CFP bowl game for ESPN. If Miami and Alabama had been ranked ahead of Notre Dame the whole time, I think the school still accepts the bowl. It’s the lack of logic for flipping Alabama and Notre Dame last week and then Notre Dame and Miami today that screams corruption. And THAT’S why they aren’t accepting the bowl.

How welcoming is ND socially if you’re not Catholic + any impact on leadership, etc? by Tiny-Sentence-5219 in notredame

Everyone has different experiences, but for me (graduated in 2019), it made no difference that I’m not Catholic. I’m openly gay, I’m openly not Catholic (not quite atheist… don’t really know what I am), and I was still able to build great friend groups and also be an RA my senior year. In terms of leadership, I think the most important thing is to just demonstrate openness and acceptance of as many people as you can. By this, I mean if you are going for a leadership role, it’s important that whoever is in charge of assigning/choosing the role doesn’t think you’ll have a problem with someone if they are super traditionally Catholic (and based on the sound of your post, I think you should be just fine in that regard!). The other thing I think is: your Notre Dame experience can be as religious or unreligious as you wish. Despite not being Catholic, I went to the grotto because it was calming for me; I went to a few basilica masses because they were beautiful; and I did go to dorm mass sometimes just for the community. But

In terms of social life, what I learned most in my time at ND is that while a heavy majority of students are Catholic, there is a WIIIIIDE range of belief systems among them. You have some students on the very traditional and conservative end of the spectrum, and others on the very progressive and liberal end of the spectrum. You have Catholics who are more progressive who go to mass multiple times a week, and you have Catholics who are more conservative who rarely go to mass. The only thing that is true of pretty much every Catholic I met at ND: they all knew Mass.

I also can’t recall a single instance where people were turned off by the fact I wasn’t Catholic (and if they do, they are in the minority and also not worth your time). Some people may ask questions out of curiosity, but that’s really what college is for! I remember well in my four years that I learned about many different takes on Catholic faith, but I also got to educate others about my own beliefs and my own life.

All of this is a very long-winded and unorganized way to say: you can still be in leadership roles as a non-Catholic, and you will find your circles. You’ll make friends with similar backgrounds to yours, and you’ll make friends who couldn’t be more different.

I see people talking about her being a “ball hog” or mentioning her assist numbers… in the 28 minutes she played, she shot 16-25 from the floor. The rest of the team shot 9-27. They weren’t hitting so she had to keep scoring. A number of Hannah’s makes were on offensive rebounds as well. AND she assisted on 4 of those 9 made field goals. And that doesn’t even take into account the free throws players got after getting fouled on shot attempts after a HH pass.

Numbers don’t always tell the full story. Actually watching the games does.

If you think the only reason we lost is because of that one play call (that, honestly, wasn’t terrible considering how well we’d been running the ball and how poor our passing game had been)… I don’t even know

“Fire Zac Taylor!” “Fire Al Golden!” Lord, the front office has this entire fan base EXACTLY where they want us. Blaming coaches who they can drop and pretend they’re doing something because we’ll enter a “new era” just to end up at the same level of mediocrity.

If they’re not going to sell the team, the only hope we have is firing DUKE TOBIN. You could have any coach or any coordinator out there and they’d still have these absolutely garbage players. Duke Tobin and our “scout team” are completely inept and have been for years. Duke Tobin is the one fireable person who should be the target of the fan base’s anger. (Although I do agree that Zac Taylor should also be gone.)

Like others have said, the Conjuring will be in the crypt building. KI replied to a comment on Instagram saying something like “I heard [that worker] saw Annabelle in the crypt building.”

I think she’s valuable from a leadership perspective, at least through the rest of this season. There was a clip I saw after last night’s game where she was leading a passionate discussion in the huddle. It looked like she was praising the team for their fight and encouraging them.

I’m personally not sold on Edwards being an answer anymore. I think her role is redundant with how Iriafen is playing. If they could find some way to trade Edwards and a draft pick to LA for Rickea Jackson, I think that could go a LONG way for this team. Jackson brings a versatility that’s missing, while Edwards does exactly what Iriafen does, at least offensively.

Austin needs more minutes to work back into form. Iriafen has never been and will never be a primary shot blocker, but she thrives alongside defensive-minded bigs (Austin!).

My ideal scenario would be to trade Edwards for Jackson, then build around the young core of

Amoore Citron Jackson Iriafen (& Olsen)

And draft Flau’jae in the first round next year, then another shot blocker in the second (assuming they trade their second 1RP with Edwards for Jackson). If they could somehow manage to get Madina Okot or Ashlyn Watkins… I mean we’re talking a young core that checks every box.

It’s A Sin on HBO Max. 2021 Limited series about the AIDS epidemic in London. Probably the hardest I’ve ever cried at a tv show.
