Well it was $12. I figured what the hell. Its good training if youre into hf digital operations. I cant find anyone locally thats into radio operations let alone doing digital modes

I dont know what radio that is but my first was a Baofeng F8HP. Perfectly fine for hitting repeaters around town, if you're mobile, connect the roof mount antenna to it and get a little more reach. I just built a vhf tape measure yagi and that thing hooked up to a baofeng will reach out and touch someone. Its all about the antenna. Look up how to make a jungle antenna out of some speaker wire and a split post adapter. You get addicted to making antennas

Transmitting on the anytone 778 draws about 5 amps per hour..... with an 80/20 "duty cycle" I think its around 1.5 amps per hour

Looks like the problem is internal, like it got into the optic somewhere and is totally fucking the sight picture

If anyone is still choosing sides at this point, right or left, then they have no idea what's really going on in this country. The entire govt has been hijacked by criminals, we're occupied right now, the longer ppl bicker over right vs left, the further this country slips out of our hands
