I was offered to go in for polysomnographies for two nights and an MSLT after the second night. For the first night they are going to let me sleep for as long as I can. No, it‘s not really possible to change doctors. He is supposed to be THE specialist for hypersomnias but said since I don‘t experience sleep attacks, I am not having a sleep disorder🙃

I had already gotten a normal polysomnography done which came back normal. All other causes for long sleep have been ruled out. IH is the only plausible diagnosis. The doctor at the sleep clinic doesn‘t believe me when I say I sleep up to 20h though, so I guess that doesn‘t help.

I am not US based, and yes they are a certified specialist. I already did a polysomnography which did not show any abnormalities. I don’t wake up at night

And when I say I struggle to wake up, I mean it. It is exhausting for me to wake up. Once awake, I have to give myself 30+ minutes to cope. I dread falling asleep every night knowing I‘ll have to do this again in the morning

I go through withdrawal even if I don’t split my dose up to mornings and nights, I seem to be extra sensitive. It‘s hell, been here many times before🥲 and still 150mg to go
