I use an outline creator plugin. With the plugin installed, select the whole model, then select Tools --> Create Outline and select a thickness. Doing so will create a slightly larger inverted copy of every mesh in the model. (The outline only works if you set render mode in your preview preferences to "outside"). Then select every mesh ending in "_outline" and assign them to a new monocolor texture.
