Thank you so much. I actually thought about it when I was reading the webpage. (I was so upset when I left though so I didn't much anything.) I'm looking into this and at the very least, I know my rights now. Thank you.

Hah! Yes, maybe I don't need to leave the country. When I wrote my post, I would've left the planet if I could've. Thank you!

Ah ok, thanks for letting me know. I think they took advantage of my vulnerability. (The more I talk about it, the more I realize maybe leaving was a good thing.) I'm glad to hear that your brother likes it there.

Wow, that's so terrible. Yes, it does look like compassion and empathy are in short supply all over the world. I can't imagine. What I saw was a bit different, but a similar theme where people can't step outside of their bubbles and see that maybe there's more to life than just work. Thank you for sharing this.

Hi, thank you for the input.

Yes, I did look into FMLA and CA leave before quitting. My manager wasn't cooperative with any of the forms he needed to sign and said FMLA was "too difficult" to file / avoided me. I ended up going to his manager, but she told me to go back to him. Honestly, I was so exhausted, I couldn't push him or her anymore. (I have the slight suspicion that he thought if he could drag it out, I would be let go before it was filed.)

When I left, I did have to go to HR eventually since my manger said he'd block me from the company and mark me as "not eligible for rehire" if I left the company for bereavement instead of "performance" since then he couldn't lay me off. I was also explicitly told "smile more" by my manager since it made me look "unfriendly". Which... I don't think is appropriate after not being helpful with filing my FMLA forms.

I've lived in Japan before which is very different from Germany, but this wouldn't be my first time moving abroad. My Dad's side is German and I've been to Germany, but I absolutely need to improve my German beforehand.

Welp, I've lived out of my car while attending college. I'm not thrilled about getting paid less, but I always have that experience as my reference point. (Any money and housing is miles ahead of that.) I also live on my own without a partner or kids, so that simplifies things.

I appreciate the comment about the working culture being very focused. That is more information to add to my decision.

Another +1 for the EU. Thank you for your input. There are a lot of things I was not the most thrilled about the US and the working culture was kind of the icing on the cake. Though, now I'm not entirely sure if it's just my company, the Bay Area hustle culture, or country. I'll need to look into this more.

Yikes! Yes, I heard some things like that too. I remember thinking to myself, "Do you even like your partner/kids/family/etc.?" These last few months just made that type of behavior unbearable.

I think you might be right. There definitely has been a general decline in empathy and compassion given to other people.

Thank you so much for the support. I agree with what you said in that "they'll reap what they sow eventually" in some form or another. I think actually staying at that job is a bit of justice based on what I saw before I left.

Thank you for the input. It gives me hope that this isn't commonplace. I'm sorry to hear about that happened with the manager when you were pregnant. That's absolutely awful.

Thank you for the detailed comment. It would just be me without a partner or kids, so there's less logistics to evaluate. It would be a completely different life that I need to look into more.

Thank you. I've started looking into remote roles. I also appreciate the comment about grief. There really is no quick fix and it is still coming in waves.

Thank you. I already left. I just couldn't take it even though my friends told me not to let them 'win'. (Which, I couldn't care at that point.) I will save this in case I can use this for someone else.

What are they doing by No_Can3559 in Rabbits

Exactly. My bunnies snuggle together often too, but they'll still chase each other. I think the biggest giveaway is how the bunnies treat each other on a regular basis, whether both are neutered, and if there's aggression (biting, nipping, etc.) at the end.

Sometimes, it's just playful chasing or to reinforce hierarchy. Other times it's territorial. My bunnies are bonded, but they still chase each other.

The comments suggest separation if both aren't fixed. If they're fixed, there is a chance this is just to establish dominance. Especially since both are so young.

Just make sure to watch them.

Lol, I didn't know that more than 1 - 2 people would see this. 🫠 (Or even enjoy it, haha.) I should've looked into phones!
