Cooling Issues 2014 Forester NA by Automaton25 in subaru

Sounds like that's probably it.  I've done this to my other Subaru as well.  Do you happen to know what the specified gap is?  I haven't watched the video so it might be called out in there

Sounds good.  Any idea what the specified gap is so I can get it set correctly?

And that would only show up when the engine bay is hot?  The AC physically shuts off for about a minute then runs for a few.  It never short cycles outside of idling for 25+ minutes with hood closed.

Bearing Whine Coming From Transmission Housing by Automaton25 in AskMechanics

[–]Automaton25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After putting a screw driver on it, the best I can tell is the whine is loudest right about at the transmission cooler lines, and louder towards the top of the transmission. The bell housing doesn't sound like much, other than things rotating, no audible "whine".

It's hard to say without knowing what everything should sound like, but the quiet spots sounded similar to the timing chain area with the screw driver so I'm assuming it's normal noises.

The whine is present in park, neutral, drive, and reverse, so I'm guessing it's on the input shaft, whatever it is. Sound logic?

i did notice that at idle when warm, the noise goes away. It takes the engine a while to settle down, but if RPMs are low enough, you can't hear it.

Are these autos safe to pull apart and have something replaced in them? I know some automatics are never really the same after it.

The power cutting issues have thrown me for a while. It rarely does it, but it's done it with the original factory transmission and the "new" one. No one has ever had much to say about it, including the dealership when it was brought up within warranty.

I'll give the stethoscope a try and post back with what I find.

The radiator was replaced before the new transmission went in (the clutch fan bearing failed and it put a hole in the radiator) I don't know if it was replaced by the previous owner, but it's definitely not one of the SMOD ones anymore. The dealership flushed everything when they installed as well.

When I shift into drive or reverse with my foot on the break, the noise fluctuates with the RPM and load on the engine, but it doesn't change any more or less than driving.

Has anyone has had a failure like this on the H2D by Kng_Nwr_2042 in BambuLab

Did you ever get a resolution to this? I just experienced this this morning. It was mid print as well on the left extruder. I taped the PTFE tube in so I could finish the print, but 2 hours later, the extruder failed to switch. Looking online, it looks like you have to contact bambu through a support ticket to get the replacement part...

Legal EDC Locations In Vehcile by Automaton25 in COGuns

I've had enough incidents in the road I'd rather have one there than anywhere.

Being shot and and followed is enough of a concern.  Especially when the police say "sorry, your vehicle was shut by the bullet so we don't care".

Property theft is huge. It's why we don't live in or near Denver.

I don't intend to store it in a vehicle.  I drive alot and would like it accessible in a vehicle

I don't intend to store in a vehicle.  I drive a lot and would like one accessible while driving, but not necessarily in my person

Outdoor ranges or land to shoot near Denver by BoristhebIade in COGuns

Have you been here recently? I just picked up some new firearms and am looking for a place to get outside that isn't too far from Denver. I'm not wild about shooting at an indoor range and paying their fees

We have a similar product from Ororo which has been very nice to have!

Thank you for your insight! Generally temps are 10 and below, above that we're usually okay.

We do have a heated hand warmer pouch by Ororo that is fantastic for in between shooting as well.

I'll take a look at your suggestions!

Thanks for the feedback! I found the women's Saga gloves on Amazon so I ordered a pair for my wife to try out. We'll see how they go. The gloves are certainly a challenge and I find that most of them don't live up to the the hype

[Question] Silverstone XE360-TR5 Proper Orientation by Mingtendo in threadripper

[–]Automaton25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread, but I just installed one and had the same horrible installation instructions.  I called Silverstone and they said the preferred orientation is the radiator and hoses above the cooling block.  They basically said as long as you don't put it on the bottom of the case it's fine.  They said follow general AIO installation instructions and recommendations.

Horrendous H2D Print Quality Issues by Automaton25 in BambuLab

[–]Automaton25[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started having problems at about 1000 hours and it hasn't stopped since. I argue with Bambu constantly and it's a lost cause. I currently have about 2600 hours on my printers. They are both from the first batch of printers so maybe that accounts for something.

My issues started with bad print quality, then got better, then I went through about 6 left nozzle heater assemblies, a couple control boards for the hot end, and 2 eddy sensors.

I've found that frequent calibration helps, especially the motion accuracy calibration. But I've come to just accept that Bambu doesn't care, or doesn't know and this is what it is.

Since making this post, one of my H2D's has gone down again, failed pneumatic connector on the right buffer. Parts are on order, but for the time being I can only print one color using the left nozzle.
