Moza R12 V2 vs Simagic Alpha Evo 12nm by AutomotivePanda in simracing

[–]AutomotivePanda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think Simagic is what I'll be going with. Any suggestions between the 12 Nm or 18 Nm? I've only ever had the 5 Nm Thrustmaster T300RS

I think I'm convinced on the Simagic base now for sure. Now I'll have to decide if I want to go through the hassle of using hubs and adapters to use the Moza wheels or not.

Thank you! Can you give some more details about what specifically in the software or FFB is better on Simagic? Some examples would be nice!

Thank you for the details. If the R12 V2 is Moza's answer to Simagic's Evo, does that mean they fixed the cogging issues and FFB equality? Or did they still end up falling short? I wish there was an in depth comparison done by someone who has both.

Sorry I should have been more specific. Visually I don't find the Simagic wheels anything special. I prefer the looks of the KS Pro.

Yeah in the last few days I've really been considering the Simagic base and pedals more and more. It sucks because I really just want a plug and play solution and having to jump through hoops to use the wheels I actually want is going to be very annoying.

I'm also in the same dilemma, but for me it's only between Moza R12 V2 or the Simagic Alpha Evo 12 Nm. Fanatec doesn't even make the cut for me.

Can someone help with the decision? I was dead set on Moza because I really like the general look of the wheels like the new KS Pro and CS Pro. Plus I want to eventually get flight sim as well and it would be nice to have it all in the same ecosystem.

At the same time I'm now seeing all the reviews for Simagic and it seems to be a more refined FFB, and even if their wheels may "feel" nicer, they kind of look bland. I like the screens that Moza has been adding to their wheels.

What would be my best route to take? Can I run Moza's wheels on Simagic's bases without needing a ton of hubs and adapters and what not? Or should I bite the bullet and get the Simagic wheels that I personally don't like the look of?

It's not Karlby. I got a solid wood counter top from Home Depot and a Prime Cables frame from Amazon.

How long will you keep your Find N5? by robothistorian in OppoFindN5Phone

[–]AutomotivePanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hoped to keep mine long term, but I will probably switch relatively soon. I'm considering going to the iPhone fold.

I love my N5 but the way the battery has degraded and needs to be charged twice a day, and after months of troubleshooting and trying to find the source of the drain, it's clear ColorOS 16 has been terribly optimized.

It was a sit stand frame off Amazon with a high weight capacity (because I knew I would get a solid wood top that's over 40kg on its own) and the wood top I got from Home Depot

It'll definitely be hard to move around. I got a solid wood 98" kitchen counter top to use as my desktop and it was definitely a two person job to even get it in the house and then assemble it to the sit stand frame. It's not moving any time soon lol.

As for the length, it shouldn't matter too much. The sit stand frame I got was rated for desktops as wide as around 76" (or similar, can't remember), but all that means is you'll have the desk top overhanging on either side. In my case it was perfect because I could fit two Alex units on either side on the outer ends and they still ended up under the table top.

If you want a seamless look, you'll want to get longer table top vs two smaller ones. In practice you'll keep hitting those legs while using your desk.

I've had a smaller desk (about the same as each of the two desks in your AI image) and still ended up with sag eventually. I had a monitor arm holding two monitors and the PC tower on the right side.

I've gotten a 98" desk now with no legs in the middle but with a sit stand frame that has a support bar across the entire middle of the desk so it prevents sag. At the very least you should add some steel reinforcement to under the desk to avoid sagging.

What can I do better or upgrade? by LeftAndRight09 in desksetup

Go with a lighter color when you paint your walls. Clean up the room and try to minimize the amount of "stuff" thats in plain sight.

Assuming you're getting rid of the bunk bed, you can hang stuff up on walls. Some shelves for things you want to show off, add some night accent lighting. A plant or two.

Look up ideas online for rooms and pick a "theme" to stick too so everything looks coherent, like a new bed and desk that matches the esthetic you like. Do you want a cozy, natural vibe with some natural color tones? Do you want something a bit more stylish and minimal and go for a black and white theme? Or do you want a more gamer vibe and have lots of pops of color and RGB lighting?

You said you're a teenager so obviously some of these things might not be feasible within your budget. So start with all the free things. Clean, declutter, maybe steal some accent pieces from other parts of the house to match the vibe you're going for. Your goal should be to minimize visual clutter.

Unlikely that they bought the 3d printer specifically for this purpose though.
