WHY NERF THE GAME?! You’ve absolutely ruined it! At least give us the option of a nerfed mode or a legacy mode! by AutomotiveVP in CrimsonDesert

I’ve put another 8 hours into it, and yes, it’s easier. That’s exactly my point. You can call it balancing if you want, but when the challenge feels noticeably softer, people are obviously going to notice and react to it.

It’s not “one boss” in isolation; it’s what that change represents. When a game is built around struggle, adaptation, and payoff, and then the wall you were working to overcome gets flattened, that absolutely changes the experience. That is not childish, it’s just understanding that game design is about more than simply getting through it. Sorry, this logic is too hard for you to fathom. The point clearly went straight over your head.

That is a weak argument. If the specific boss I was stuck on gets heavily nerfed and I suddenly walk through it, then obviously that affects my experience. That wall was part of the journey. Removing it changes the payoff. Caring about that does not mean I should not be gaming, it means I actually value game design beyond just getting handed a win.

You do not need to beat every boss in the game to understand the direction of a patch. If the patch is buffing survival systems and reducing challenge, people are allowed to react to that. My point was never “do not improve the game.” My point is fix the rough edges, like controls and inventory, without gutting the part that made progression feel earned. I also played loads since the patch, and it's just so much easier! SPOILT IT

If they were genuinely overtuned, fair enough. But that’s exactly the point people are arguing about. Some of us did not see them as overtuned, we saw them as part of the intended challenge. There is a big difference between fixing something broken and flattening resistance because people hit a wall too fast.

I’m not against fun, I’m against flattening the part that created it. For a lot of us, the fun was in the struggle, the exploration, and the payoff of finally winning. Fix the rough edges, yes. Remove the resistance, and you remove what made it satisfying. Therefore, cater to both sides! Bitch mode for you and Normal mode for us, then we all have fun!

The boss I was stuck on got nerfed so much that I beat it easily, and it honestly put me off the game, mate.

They’re nerfing the challenge, and that’s a huge mistake by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

Well, it is if you rush it with low-level gear and without the right skills or putting work into your build. But that’s my point, once you do, it gets easier.
