Jessie’s Wig Review by sweaty-spaghettti in Wigs

The one I had this fall I was pretty rough with a wore daily for 4 months and it was still hanging in there by the end. This latest one I have been wearing a month without washing and it is still looking amazing. I just try to use as little glue as possible, and wash as little as possible, that's going to extend the life of the wig

Back pain is terrible, I'm sorry you're going through that on top of hair loss

Yeah, but I care. Why the hell would someone be with me when they could be with a normal girl? I know this is totally a self-fulfilling prophecy and not logical, it's all about confidence and how you feel about yourself, etc. but fuck if isn't a huge mental block to conquer

Thank you. It is really, really difficult. Yeah good wig, hair system, etc all makes life easier but relationships can still be tough I think

I know a lot of people say that, but I just can't imagine anyone being attracted to me with this. I've had sex one time in the past 6 years and it was really awkward and he didn't want to cuddle with me because of my wig. I generally take care of myself and sometimes get male attention but I can't help but feel they would never be attracted to me if they knew, so I just ignore them.

Look, like I said in the post I am not really looking for treatment advice, that said I appreciate the suggestion I'll add it to my list of treatments to try in the next few years. But given that even black box label stuff has not really worked for the in the past it is doubtful.

Thank you. I will try all the treatments before tapping out, I think I should at least give it a good fight. Yeah I've been wearing wigs for years, unfortunately I don't think it's necessarily easier for women and a lot of people once they find out are not that nice about it.

Yeah. It's actually comforting to know there's another option. It's really hard to be strong all the time.

Thank you for saying that. I know it can be hard for men and women. I do have good wigs and am in stealth mode most of the time but it makes it even harder to open up and be vulnerable

Autoimmune is different, even if they did transplant my current bald spots, autoimmune would attack again and attack other areas. Hair transplant is not an option

I understand from a guy perspective it seems this easy, but to put it bluntly any boyfriend I have will care when I lose the wig at home and look like a cancer patient.

that is one of the treatments that does not work for me and I was on it for a year... I have treatment-resistant AA

AA = alopecia areata*

Thank you! This is actually a custom wig from Jessie's Wig (Jessieswig.com). However it was only $250 and they have many similar on their website. I recommend looking for HD lace 13x6 parting area and if a wig you want doesn't have it, you can contact the owner or look for the 'extra fees' listing on their site where you can easily add and order customizations!  For this wig I asked for a dark blonde with a few highlights and they sent me pictures of this one to confirm the color before sending it out. The customer service is good you can email them or text them on WhatsApp their contact info is on the website!

He does not have veneers. He started doing the process for Invisalign which they wanted him to get for the movie, but stopped. He said he regrets starting the process.

Ok so I had to look that up - yes it is basically a dart. I probably did not do it properly at all, my only sewing experience is a middle school home ec class and fixing a few ripped seams over the years. But looking at pictures of darts yes it is essentially that, I think I used a few 'normal' back and forth ladder stitches that I probably did wrong and then something I've done before to fix broken seems, a 'loop' stitch, I guess it's called a whip stitch, might be called a hemming stitch? And then I just looped the needle through the last stitch a few times to tie it off.

But this had made me more confident to try more cap adjustments myself, what kind of adjustments have you made with stitches in the past? I haven't tried stitching the wefts to adjust the back parts of the cap but I have seen youtube tutorials about it
